This hotel was so comfortable! After traveling 5 hours and checking in at midnight the beds were a welcome surprise!! I didn't want to get out of them the next morning!! The service was fantastic and the made to order breakfast was delicious! I will definitely stay here again!!

This was our first ever Thanksgiving meal.... we enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Elegante. The selection of food was excellent and delicious, something for everyone. We decided to stay for the night. The room was very spacious and clean and had the added bonus of two TV sets and a small lounge area. There were complimentary beverages in the evening and also a wonderful breakfast was included in the price. The Hotel was very close to many shopping centres and food outlets. There is also some great entertainment areas for the kids. The staff were also very accommodating and helpful. Had a great time and would definately visit again if we come to Abeline!

I have stayed in a lot of four star hotels. One of the most important things to me is the SERVICE. I usually get that type of treatment in a four star hotels, but not this time.

I was looking to be in Abilene for New Years Eve. I saw that MCM had been rated best hotel in Abilene for seven years in a row, so I decided to give it a try. When I set down in the bed to watch the ball drop, I found that the bedroom television didn't work. I called it in. A service man came to tell me that it hasn't worked for days. It wasn't just that my dream was crushed, but they were unwilling to do anything about it. There was no offer of compensation.

The next morning (10 am) I went to breakfast (included in the price). It was scheduled to end at 10:30 am. The cinnamon rolls were all gone. The whole milk was empty. The wait staff moved like slow water buffalo. Again, it was the service. The lack of attention to customer focus and building the customer experience. this would be a good three star hotel.

I stayed here with two children--13 and 3. The hotel is dated, not filthy but not especially clean. It has a strange West Texas meets Mexico decor. My 13 year old thought it was "neat." It sounds like a great place to stay with children but there are caveats. There is a clean indoor pool and hot tub but there is a wierd "pool monitor" who sits in the corner watching everyone who comes in and out. He's not a lifeguard, he putters on his laptop and eyeballs everyone. It's creepy. My son is 13 and a strong swimmer and he wanted to go for a swim while my 3 year old took a nap. The pool monitor tossed him out because children have to be 14 to be in the pool area unattended.
Then there's the in-room videogames--you have to pay a fee for the kids to use them and it's overpriced.
The breakfast was the worst buffet food I've ever had--truly awful. There is a server standing at the buffet table who scoops your food for you and there are no refills. Luckily, we wouldn't have wanted a refill, because the eggs and hashbrowns had an awful taste--none of us ate more than a few bites.
Between the pool monitor and the buffet scooper, I felt micromanaged--like the hotel manager is either a control freak or worried about a lawsuit.
The upside is that you can walk across the street to the mall (it's a small mall but at least it's something to do). There are also a couple of free drinks per guest at the happy hour. The margaritas are good.

Having never stayed at any other hotel in Abilene, I have no basis for comparison, but I'm really forgiving with hotels and this one was mediocre at best.
