This was strictly to be a quick one night stay with a late arrival. Well, our arrival became very late and they had released our room (even though guaranteed) some sort of computer glitch, charged me for it and I had to be charged for another night but they immediately got us settled in a room and advised me to talk to the manager the next morning about removing the extra night from my bill. The room was clean and comfortable. After just a few hours sleep we had to be up and on our way. When I got to the dining room it was at the tail end of the complimentary hot breakfast - I told the hostess that I had three teenagers coming in just a few minutes and asked if there was any way to get a few of the items replenished. She assured me it would not be a problem and by the time the kids arrived had refilled everything and did it all with a fantastic attitude and a great smile! While they were finishing breakfast I tracked down the manager and before I could get out more than name was informed it had already been taken care of! For a stay of only 7 hours it was incredible in the service that we received. Would definately recommend anyone to stay here.

On Oct 15, 2008 my husband, myself, and 5 year old daughter left Louisiana for a 12 hour drive to Jefferson City, Tennessee. We drove expecting to stop in Chattanooga, Tennessess but my husband didn't want to get caught in 8am work week traffic the next moring so we kept driving which we stopped at 5 differenet hotels with no rooms available. We kept going and at this point it is 1am and finally Holiday Inn Express in Athens, Tennessee has a room for us, considering their parking lot was packed like all the other places we stopped. They put us in a room on the first floor which was very very large. We had a king size bed, microwave, and a mini freg. although we didn't use any of these things. We sleep like babies considering we only got 4 hours of sleep having to get back on the road the next morning. They had a nice breakfast which was free. Back on the room, this whole hotel was very clean because I am all about sleeping somewhere that is clean. The staff was very friendly and we were so happy that they could supply us with a hot shower and a nice bed.

We had a great 3 night stay. The room was emaculate. The hotel staff was VERY nice and helpful. The swimming pool and fitness room was kept very clean and both had towels available. It is convenient to good eating and a Walmart! We will defininitely stay there again when we are in town!

The hotel was in great condition. The bathroom was in better shape than some 4 star hotels I have been to. The maid was excellent. The hotel was very clean. I was pleasantly surprised. This is definitely the best place to stay in Athens. We will be going back.
