“A Good Stop-Over Spot From FL to MI”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

We selected the Hampton Inn, Athens, for it's location primarily. We were driving from Orlando to Ann Arbor, MI and we needed a spot that was about 1/2 way. Turns out that Athens, Tennessee fits the bill! After reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor, we booked for one night. The Hotel met all of our expectations except it was quite noisy. Not from the highway noise, but if you are a ground- floor guest not wanting an early wake up, you are going to get one anyway! The people above us were moving around at an early hour (we were too, but they beat us to the banging and packing up noises by a bit. Then, our room was right off of the Breakfast Area and you can imagine what kind of noise eminates from there every morning.
That being said, the room was nice, the breakfast was free and GREAT and they even have little to-go bags of breakfast stuff if you don't want to stick around and eat in their designated area.
I would highly recommend this hotel, and stay here again, but NEXT time, we'll be on the top!

“Stayed here because of the great reviews and so glad that I did!”

I go to Trip Advisor before making reservations ANYWHERE, and so far, the reviews have been on par with my experiences, and this one is no different. I would definitely stay here again. First of all, I really like the open atrium with the wrap around hallways. I feel safer in these types of hotels, where the lobby/reception can generally see/hear what is going on in all of the hallways. Athens is a charming town, and we had a great meal at the Ruby Tuesdays right across the street, and the beds were comfortable, the internet connection was terrific, and we watched a great movie on TV. The reception was warm, and we had bottled water and snacks waiting for us in our room upon arrival - they really take care of Hilton Honors members. This is exactly what I hope for every time that I stay at a Hampton but don't always experience. Kudos to the hotel management here. We will definitely stay here to and from Florida and areas down South when we head out in that direction. They gave us a little extra time in the morning, and the cleaning people were super friendly. Just an overall great experience.

“Wish all hotels were like this one!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2010

I can't comment on the cost of a room at this hotel since our trip provided a great opportunity for us to spend some Hilton Honors points, but I would have no problem spending actual money at this hotel if passing through the area again. Athens, Tennessee provided a great place to spend the night while traveling from the Chatanooga area to Pigeon Forge area, less than an hour outside of the former and an hour and a half outside of the latter.

The hotel is located immediately off I-75 near other hotels and a handful of gas stations, convenience stores and restaurants. While near the highway, the hotel was extremely quiet. An older Hampton Inn, the hotel appeared to have been renovated very recently. The design was very nice with an open atrium between the rooms, which featured a sitting area as well as a dining area for the complimentary breakfast (which we did not try because of a lack of time in the morning.)

The room was typical of modern Hampton Inns with nice furniture, a large bathroom and fluffy, overstuffed beds with lots of pillows. It was a clean, quiet and pleasant place to spend the night. We ended up wishing more hotels were like this one.

We have stayed at this hotel several times since we have relatives in this area. The hotel is always great. No negative comments at all. We will continue to use this hotel as our base when in the area.

“A Consistent "Hampton Inn” Athens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2009

A nice Hampton Property in Athens TN w/easy access off the highway ... but get directions as it is set back off the main road a bit. Check in was easy and room was very clean and comfortable. Bed was perfect for a good night’s sleep (good pillows!!). Staff WAS very considerate and helpful which was a pleasant traveling plus after a very long day of driving. Breakfast was the usual fare for the chain …nothing great, but did provide a “Go Bag” of stuff for road travel which was nice. Would certainly return when back in Athens,TN.
A Nice Stay!!
