“A nice place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

The staff was great and the rooms were clean and ready for us with a early check-in. I enjoyed the pool and the breakfast everyday. This is a great place to relax and not worry. It is close by to the Lost Sea (15-20 miles which I recommend) and several good places to eat. We will definetly stay in this Hampton if back in the area. We used our hilton honor point stay for three nights.

Room Tip: this hotel is built so the rooms are visible from the front - nicely done. safe feeling

“Clean and accomodating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

We just got back from a weekend trip with 4 grandsons, ages 6-10. We took them to ride the train in Etowah, TN. and Athens is the closest decent city to stay in.
We were in a king suite, because that was the biggest they had to offer. Still, most hotels will not let you have more than 5 people to a suite. These people were terrific about accomodating us. The lady who booked us at the hotel said she had 4 children and knew what it was like trying to find places to stay.
The king bed was so comfortable. One boy slept on the chase lounge next to it, two on the fold out sofa, and one in a sleeping bag. The room was clean and comfortable, with TVs in the living room and bedroom. The table seated 8, with big comfortable chairs--enough room to eat and play games. The hotel decor was up to date and very inviting. The pool was small. but the boys enjoyed it--It had water, and that's all they cared about.
Breakfast was good--waffles, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, ham, etc. It lasts from 6:00-10:00 every day.
The only problem was: the one lady working the breakfast area had trouble keeping up with heavy weekend demand. In fact, she may have "had it", because she did not show up at all on Sunday. When we came down for breakfast, she was not there, and someone not familiar with the setup was scurrying around trying to get things set up. There was no food and people were opting to eat elsewhere. A few minutes after we arrived, a woman named Misty came in. She had aparently been called awy from her children's baptism to work. My husband even got up and helped her fill napkins, spoons, etc, while she brought in the food.
We didn't catch the other woman's name, but thank you Misty and to the other woman for going above the call of duty to accomodate the mob of people who were clammoring for breakfast tjhat day. If I had been the owner/manager I would have been right in there helping too, since breakfast is a big PR push in the hotel industry.

Room Tip: There is no laundry facility here.

“Our Lucky Day!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

My friend and I were very tired after driving about 10 hours from a wonderful Family Reunion Vacation in New Orleans. We came across the Hampton Inn In Athen's TN.
The very friendly lady at the desk explained that she was sorry but they where booked solid but suggested a hotel nearby that was newly built and called to see if they had rooms available. We left headed for that hotel.
We heard her call our name as we were getting in our car explaining that she just had a cancellation. We all went back in and she gave us a fabulous room with all the modern touches. To my delight the exercise room was right next to our room ( I work out every morning)
The whole Hotel is beautiful inside and out. The nice lady at the desk name is Misty. She went over and beyond in our opinion. I feel that she deseves a raise. She's an a valueable asset to your company.
The only negative thing was the next morning the person who checked us out was not
as friendly as Misty. I even had to ask what was in those bags on the desk? She was not going to give us any on her own. She replied water, apples and a muffin. We just took 2 bags and said Thankyou. I guess Misty set the standard high!!!

Room Tip: Always be friendly no mater how tired you are!!!

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011

We stayed at this hotel in June of 2011 and had a great stay. The staff was very nice to us and the breakfast was good. The hotel was booked on the night we stayed, yet it was very quiet and we fell right to sleep. Our room was very clean. The pool was nice for our kids. I would recommend this hotel, we would stay again.
