Laundry list of problems. While most staff were pleasant, they were also mostly clueless. Pet-friendly, and policy/fee was very liberal, and fair. Room seemed clean enough, but electrical outlets not working, NO room-darkening curtains (for "show" only - did not move together across window!), and smelled a bit old/musty. Many mistakes with rate quotes, "forgetting" to waive fees they "forgot" to tell us about, and the worst issue...they did three separate transactions (holds) on funds with my debit card, which totaled the amount we owed them.. Upon check-out, they ran my card number (fourth time) for the ENTIRE amount, instead of batching the three previous transactions separately for payment, rendering us with a $150 "hold" still on the account, which we discovered after our return home. Hotel manager refused to entertain the notion that this was a major screw-up, and lectured me on how debit cards "work", maintaining that the hotel didn't cause any problem. Called my CC company, and they educated me on what had occurred, and confirmed that the hotel had caused the "hold" amounts to further debit from my available balance due to improper handling of the transactions (should not have run the transaction for the entire amount upon check-out). Tried to again s/w hotel manager - he refused to listen to the bank/cc info I had received, and invited me to call "1-800-Holiday" if I had a problem. He refused to disclose information about who owns this property, and basically hung up our phone call. Filed a complaint with Holiday Inn (corporate), but BEWARE: If you have any issues with your stay related to billing, corporate CANNOT help you! The franchised properties can be fined for infractions (unclean rooms, safety issues, bad/wrong info), BUT, they cannot force resolution/compliance about billing matters. And the GM can "hide out", and HI cannot disclose the ownership of these hotels. They caused major issues for me, and I am still waiting for some of the "holds" on my account to credit back to my balance! They got their $187, though, and held up funds I didn't owe them! On a "better" note - Doris in the restaurant is almost worth the stay herself! Rest of staff are "corporate puppets", and don't have the training, maturity, or leadership support (idiot manager) to be good CS people. Pet-friendly - but NO ONE had any info on local pet services, activities, etc...NO INFO! And for roughly $80-$90/night, only a good "value" if you have pets with you, and they don't make multiple mistakes that ruin your finances, and your faith in humanity. Had they looked into what occurred, apologized, and offered to make some type of amends, we may have gone back with the dogs sometime. We will likely pay more elsewhere in Nashville at other pet-friendly hotels - it's hard to find them, and find reasonable fees/policies. But there is no way I would walk through those doors ever again!
