The modest brick ranch home contains the original furnishings, photos, cars, guns and memorabilia of the Pusser family. Buford Pusser was the subject of several major motion pictures. The "Walking Tall" movies tell about his life and tragic death. « less

“Excellant Tribute”

We traveled down to the museum and home of Buford Pusser. I must say that I was highly impressed and wanted to know more the more that I learned. The caretaker of the museum was highly knowledgeable and made it very interesting with each and every detail. What topped all of this off was I was told where one of Buford Pusser's original patrol cars was located. Then I felt like I was walking on clouds. Could not wait to get out and feel that piece of history; so much so, that I left Adamsville, Tn without seeing the house where the movie was filmed. Buford Pusser was truely a remarkable man and after visiting the home and museum, I have a new appreciation of what that man stood for.

“A Fitting Tribute”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2009

The Buford Pusser Home and Museum is a fitting tribute to and a repository of the artifacts of a man who never quite realized the legacy that he left. The modest ranch brick home, built in 1971 after a fire, reflects the simpleness and personality of a shy, quiet and generous man who by turn had little use for bullies and outlaw tyrants.

A fan and a researcher of Sheriff Pusser for years, my first trip there in 2007 was the culmination of a long journey with the Buford Pusser Legacy.

The driving force behind the museum is it's Curator, Renee' Moss. Coupled with the support and tireless dedication of Sheriff Pusser's daughter, Dwana, and the Buford Pusser Foundation the museum is coming into it's own as a modern, updated and splendid way to secure Sheriff Pusser's legacy.

Buford Pusser was and is single-handedly responsible for hundreds of thousands of people choosing law enforcement and criminal justice as a career. The Pusser story should be treasured and remembered. I am very happy that the Buford Pusser Home and Museum does just that.
