The first morning we put our do not disturb sign on the door when we showered and afterwards turned it to the other side to request maid service. We left at approximately 11:30 that day and came back to a room which had not been serviced at all. We asked about it at the desk and were told there was nothing that could be done because the housekeepers had all gone home. They told us they would give us clean towels. We were also told to not use the sign the next day because the housekeepers tend to think it says do not disturb even if we have it turned to the maid service side. The next morning we left the sign off as instructed and were wakened at 8:30 by the housekeeper. We asked her to come back later and we quickly got up, showered and left the room so it could be cleaned. That night when we returned we realized all that was done was the bed made and clean towels left for the ones we had dirtied. There was still make up in the sink that was there from the first day, no replacement of coffee, soap, shampoo, etc. We had a small sliver of soap between the 2 of us and about 3 teaspoons of shampoo in the leftover bottle.
I went to the front desk to complain and the manager overheard me and said that they have a company policy to only change the sheets every 3 days. I told him at other hotels I had stayed at I had the option to get clean sheets by placing a card on the bed. There was no card in the room to do that. He repeated that it was his company policy. I also started to discuss the housekeeping issues of no replacements and a housekeeper walked by and he said to her "Did you hear this and she curtly replied "Yeah..I already talked to her." At that point the manager walked away. The housekeeper was referring talking to me about seeing me take soap off her cart and she yelled at me to put it back. I told her I wouldn't have to take it if we had been left one but I needed to shower and had none. She proceeded to lecture me about how they have to account for every piece on their cart.
I feel this was all handled very poorly and the manager did nothing to satisfy my concerns of housekeeping but leave me with the girl at the front desk who by the way was very polite and the only one that seemed concerned.
I have since expressed my concerns to others that have stayed there in the past and if they do again they have agreed with me that we would check in, check out, check in, check out for how ev er many days we are staying so we can get clean sheets, and an approrpriate amout of supplies.
