We chose this hotel because of the price and proximity to Lehigh University. In retrospect, we could have afforded the extra few dollars to stay at a place that was a little safer and nicer. I actually got up in the middle of the night to make sure my car was still in the parking lot. The guy behind us in line for check-in was inquiring about the cost of an hourly room rental, which seemed to be standard practice for this establishment. We also couldn't figure out why there was a guy drinking a beer in the back of a pickup truck in the parking lot, but that was the least of our worries.
Normally smells don't bother me too much, but the room and hallways smelled like stale cigarettes and hookers. The elevator took us from floor 1 promptly back down to floor 1 and we found that taking the stairs was easier than trying to make the elevator work.
Some of the electrical outlets didn't work and neither did the hair dryer. The bathroom wasn't disgusting, but it wasn't exactly "clean" either. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the sheets, carpet, pillows, and just about everything smelled like stale cigarettes. Also, the "Continental Breakfast" was pretty much non-existent.
Also, there was a very old van in the parking lot with 4 flat tires and a tarp over it that looked like it had been there for months.
Bottom line: Don't stay there, it's shady and not worth it.
