“Gift was well appreciated”

I gifted my son a night at the Winchester Inn as a belated birthday present (he'd had to be out of town on his actual bd), which he used for a date-night with his wife. They loved it, raving about everything from the room itself (the attached photos are the ones Jessica posted to Facebook shortly after they arrived) to the sumptuous supper and outstanding breakfast. I'm glad I was able to gift something they'll remember for ages.

Room Tip: If you're tall, like my son, be sure to ask for one of the rooms with a king bed and double-tub.

We are thrilled to hear that your son loved his stay with us. The Inn does make a great "date-night" and we hope that he can join us again soon.

“Patio Room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

The Winchester Inn is charming and the setting is romantic.

We stayed just one night on a package deal that included 2 theater tickets and a $30 dining room credit. The room was not extremely large, but it was well-appointed and contained all of the necessary amenities, including an in-room coffee maker with excellent coffee. The room faces the street but is well-insulated from street noise. There was a large flat screen TV with cable.

Our dinner was excellent. We had steak and a mahi-mahi with clams and mussels special, and both were delicious.

Room Tip: Most rooms have queen size beds.

“Pretty Victorian”

The Winchester Inn is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are large and well appointed. Our room had a nice window seat.
We were disappointed that the Inn had no free wine in the afternoon. This is the first B&B that did not offer wine. They did say that if you bought a glass of wine they would supply free hors douvres. We were not really interested in that deal.
The Inn is located in a very convenient place. It is just about a half block from Main Street.

“Great rooms at very special rates”

Ashland is a cozy little town in southern Oregon with a Victorian outlook and lots of smiling young peaople wandering around among the many little restaurants and bars - We discovered the Winchester in a side street, just a few steps from the main stret - The cost of the rooms was a bit above our budget but the friendly consierge, as it was already late afternoon, fropped the price of a fantastic mini suite to meet our possibilities - so we enjoyed the large room, the comfy beds and the
great breakfast - We'll go back to the Winchester next time I go to the States - as I have to continue my exploration of Oregon

“Winchester Inn and Restaurant Ashland, OR (Best Hotel Stay in Ashland)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Just back from a trip north delivering my artwork(http://www.rochellecarr.com) for a Children’s Cancer Association event and on the way up we stayed the night in Ashland, Oregon. Just about every time we are on the way to Oregon we stop halfway for the night at this lovely Inn and Restaurant. The rooms are comfy and delightful. The food is amazing. The wine bar warm and inviting. If you are not intending to see the Shakespeare Festival, you should - as it’s a one of a kind theatrical magic and mayhem.

The small problem on our road trip back to San Francisco is that they had no rooms available at the Winchester Inn http://www.winchesterinn.com/ and we had to stay at the http://www.ashlandspringshotel.com/. Definitely not our favorite place, but we managed to acquire the last room in the house (when we were desperate and tired from driving) so we were not bummed for the last minute tiniest room in the world. Plan ahead if you can. If you have to cancel at the Winchester, you lose the deposit.

We had a delightful dinner at the Winchester on the way up to Oregon(food amazing every time), yet the return trip reservations were unavailable and our second favorite restaurant “Amuse Restaurant” http://amuserestaurant.com/ was totally booked as well. Amuse suggested the newest Ashland restaurant: Coquina http://www.coquinarestaurant.com/ which was good food, but not amazing food compared to the lovely Amuse or Winchester Inn. The spices/salad dressings were pretty plain and the rabbit dish had too many savory add in flavors for what should be a simple Italian dish. The service was fabulous. The wine list is FANTASTIC! If money is not an issue try the Cristom (Eileen vineyard) Pinot Noir - we shared this bottle for an after dinner delight. Ambiance is lovely. Neighborhood felt warm and inviting. Walking distance from both hotels. You must try them all(all the hotels, restaurants and charm of this city).....variety is the spice of LIFE.

Enjoy!
