We came to Ashland to attend the Shakespearean Festival for the 1st time. It was wonderful. 2 blocks from the theaters, the Cowslip Belle (named for one the flowers named in Shakespeare's plays) was perfect to park the car for three days and walk to everything. We had the upstairs room in the Carriage House. The room felt new and modern with classic touches. No 'funny' smells like other B&B's we have stayed. The bed was perfect. Space was large but cozy. Newer Kitchen had everything you needed. The bathroom has an oversize bathtub/shower that was jetted and soothing. The breakfasts were wonderful. The Innkeeper made them fresh every morning. You got to sit at a large table in a beautiful dining room in the house and talk "plays" with all the other guests. It was really fun. I would recommend this B&B to anyone, except for the week we are going back next year. :) We had such a refreshing, relaxing and enjoyable trip and the Cowslip Belle was a MAJOR part of that happening. Cowslip's Belle is a very lovely b&b in a great location, just a couple blocks to the Shakespeare Festival, Lithia Park and downtown Ashland. Jon and Carmen are great hosts and the food is terrific! We are looking forward to returning as soon as we can.

Stayed 2 nights in quiet residential neighborhood (no road noise from Main St.), enjoyed location and room as well as use of common room in main Craftman style home furnished with comfortable seating, free computer use, complimentary hot beverages and cookies. Easy walk to downtown area for restaurants and theatre. Breakfast is served to you with no choices. Typ. American style breakfast with sausages, bacon, white flour waffles, egg dishes, muffins or cake, and always good coffee, tea, orange juice and fresh fruit. Nice touch with real maple syrup and local fruits.

Ashland is a special place and Cowslip's Belle B&B makes our twice-yearly trips like coming home. Long-time owners Jon & Carmen are wonderful hosts & great cooks. We look forward to breakfasts not just for the ample offerings, but for the company of congenial and intelligent fellow guests. We particularly like the townhouse suites, complete with kitchens and private fireplaces. Since its just a short walk to the theater and downtown shopping and restaurants, once you arrive you have no need for your car. Recommended without hesitation.
