“We'll be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

My husband and I have stayed at a number of B&Bs. Albion Inn is distinguished from the rest on two accounts. First, the decor of the room, while cozy, was not excessively frou frou. More important, we felt truly welcomed into the rest of the house and not relegated to our room. The size of the room (The Garden View I think?) was comfortable and we really appreciated the full-size bathroom and claw-footed tub. The Inn had just removed the lobby phone for contacting the innkeeper and we do not use cell phones. Super-friendly Cyd quickly came up with a solution for the future that didn't necessitate the expense of a little-used land line - a limited use cell. The towels in the room were a little small for us, and we now know we can call on that new phone and get larger ones. Super yummy breakfast prepared with fresh, mostly organic ingredients.

Room Tip: Pets allowed only on the room off the garden.

Thank you for taking the time to write this very nice review. I appreciate how you shared the solution we came up with together to the no-phone-in-lobby conundrum. All future phoneless travellers will be able to come into the house and page us using the cell phone in the basket on the desk. We'll also put an extra bath towel in the rooms for those of you with greater toweling needs.
What a wonderful set of guests we've had through the inn this winter off-season!

“Comfortable, quiet inn”

I have stayed at the Albion Inn for the last three years during summer visits to the Shakespearean Festival. It's a place to come back to. The inn has a separate cottage with two adjoining rooms, one of which can be set up as two twins or one king. I travel with female friends and struggle to find a B&B with twin beds, so we are very happy that the Albion Inn has this room. The beds are comfortable, the house set up for lounging and meeting other guests if one wishes, and there is a lovely garden too. Breakfasts are made with fresh ingredients and are a full meal with fruit, freshly blended juice, bread, meats, eggs or waffles, lots of coffee. Cyd accommodates dietary restrictions and will adjust the menu for individuals. How great is that? She makes homemade cookies each day and leaves out wine or sherry for the evening. It is a very cozy, accommodating inn, and totally walking distance to the plays. It's a safe, 10 minute walk even when you get out of the theatre at 11 p.m. I recommend the Albion Inn to anyone coming to Ashland.

“Excellent location. OK rooms. Pleasant common areas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Great location. Walk to everything in Ashland (which is an exceptional small town), but it's still quiet. Comfortable rooms, nothing special. Interesting hostess who will keep you thinking, entertained, and well fed. Excellent breakfasts from fresh seasonal local ingredients. If you don't know, Oregon Shakespeare Festival is one of the very best repertory theater companies in the country, and it's walking distance.

Thank you for the good review! Yes, the Albion Inn was built in 1902 as a family farm house, hence our bedrooms and baths are not as impressive as many inns in town that started their lives as grand homes with high ceilings and large-scale spaces. We try to do the very best with what we have been given to work with. Guest suggestions for improvements are always appreciated.

“top of the line”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Albion Inn is a charming bed and breakfast in the equally charming town of Ashland. If I had to pick a word, it would be homey. It's friendly, hospitable, comfortable. Great location, just an easy walk from downtown. A special touch was two suitcase racks in our room, something even upscale hotels fail to provide. Great breakfasts. Cyd makes sure all the guests are introduced to each other, and she encourages inclusive conversation.

“Three Nights at Albion Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Cyd was a great hostess, providing fine and healthy breakfasts and facilitating discussions with the other guests. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The Inn is well located, only a short walk from downtown and the theaters, as well as a laundromat, which we sorely needed.
