First, by calling ahead and reserving, we saved a bit from the posted rate on the web site.

As mentioned previously, the room we had is a bit worse for wear- showing its age. However, it was clean and comfortable for our party of three for the night. The bathroom appears to have had a little work done- it's average in space and function for economy accommodations.

It's not within walking distance of downtown and the Shakespeare Festival grounds. It is convenient to the Southern Oregon University campus, and there's a good organic grocery nearby... as well as a wafting aroma from nearby pizza parlors. Those ingredients may lend themselves to some loud weekend parties on the premises.

We stayed here last week. Some quick fresh feedback

Pros:
Great location. Very close to downtown Ashland and all the action.
Convenient location ..near starbuck, pizza place, grocery store

Cons:
Rooms are worn and outdated
Pool is yucky
Breakfast/coffee in the morning only served after 8:30 am. And the breakfast is pretty meager/bad. Coffee--they brew one pot and leave. So if you are late you have to beg them to brew a second pot!!
Parking is limited..so you have to park in the neighboring lot..wondering if it is legal and if you may get towed.
There is only one hotel employee available all day (after 8;30 am of course) and their attitude is pretty much "I am not paid well" and "I don't care if you like this place"
One morning, with a DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door, I had a cleaning lady knock our door 3 times to see if she could come in???

It is a good low price..but the lesson I took away..you get what you paid for! Avoid it.

We are current at the Timbers. The room is warm and clean. We just walked around the corner and had a great meal at Omar's. I would stay here again.

I recently stayed at Ashland Timbers Motel with my 8 year old granddaughter. Even she was appalled, but mostly at the fake flower decor! The sheets were so thin you could see through them; the towels so old you could smell them; the carpet had stains all over it. The room we were in was a king-sized room on the ground floor. big mistake. The place is so worn out that the floor above us creaked all night, every time the upstairs guests got out of bed (and they got out a lot!) to walk around the room. We were right next to the Coke machine, too, so that added traffic, to say nothing of the early risers who stand and chat on the sidewalk in front of the room.

I had called well ahead to "interview" the GM and he ASSURED me that the room would be quiet and clean. And why he would put us in THAT room is a mystery to me, especially when I made the reservation more than a month in advance so I could have one of the best rooms.

I would never stay there again, nor would I ever recommend to anyone.
