“A surprisingly special stay at the Ashland Springs Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My husband and I booked a Groupon special with this hotel several months ago and were waiting for the perfect time to treat ourselves with it. We decided upon the second week in January, and we couldn't have picked a better time. Ashland was just wrapping up its Christmas festivities, but it was quiet enough that we felt like we had the town to ourselves. It was also the first snow of the year and we got to look out over main street from our king corner suite window and our comfy, plush bed!

I loved all of the Victorian accents and furnishings in our room. Yes, it was small; however, I thought it was very, very cozy and felt like I was staying in my favorite aunt's guest room. We had champagne and truffles waiting for us upon arrival, and ordered chocolate lava cake from Lark's for dessert as we watched the snow and TV from our big windows. The staff here are also fabulous. Every single server and front desk attendant that we encountered was beyond friendly and helpful. They made us feel very, very welcome!

We ate at Lark's on the second night of our trip and had an equally amazing time there as well. I highly recommend the wine flight-- you get a substantial amount of wine in the tastings for much less than it would cost for two glasses of wine! I also recommend the apple crisp-- it was AMAZING. Our Groupon package also gave us an hour soak in the Japanese Ofuri tub at the Waterstone Spa that hotel owns, so we had a very relaxing Sunday waking up in the sauna, tub and steam room. Oh and complimentary continental breakfast was a major perk! (I just didn't care for the coffee-- thankfully Starbucks is literally just around the corner!).

I will ABSOLUTELY be back-- I just hope they offer another Groupon package like this because it was unbeatable. Literally one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had-- and we've been all over the world. Thank you Ashland Springs Hotel!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner king room on the 5th floor-- best views!

“A Nice Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We knew the hotel had a nice reputation and it really was nice. Room was not huge by any means but very nicely appointed. Restaurant downstairs was terrific and lives up to its; reputation. And as a knitter I loved seeing a knitting group in the lobby.

Room Tip: I slept thru it buy my husband heard a bunch of street noise - we were there on a Friday night.

“Beautiful, historic and unique place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I loved this historic hotel. It is decorated very well and uniquely. Room was very clean, which is a big deal to me as I used to work as a housekeeper. Continental breakfast was satisfying and I will recommend this to family and friends!

Beds, pillows and sheets are heavenly!

“I love history and adventure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

My wife and I stayed here in the spring and came back in January while traveling south to California. We love the historic charm and friendly staff and Ashland is such a fun town. We'll be back in June when we go on a three day whitewater rafting trip scheduled with White Water Warehouse on the Rogue River. Ashland is the perfect place to base and we'll take in a play at the Shakespeare Festival just before the trip. We love the wines of southern Oregon too and the emphasis on locally grown food of the region. Staying at the Ashland Springs Hotel is the perfect complement to everything else.

Room Tip: Worth spending a bit more for a larger room.

“Charm and coziness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I chose this hotel for a recent business trip. I hadd stay here before for pleasure, and chose it again because the hotel is the grande dame of Ashland. I wasn't disappointed. I received a complimentary room upgrade to a room with a tub, which made my business trip that much better. After sitting in meetings for 8-9 hours, it was good to come back to a clean, safe space and feel relaxed. The bed is comfortable, the hotel is quiet, even though it is on the main street.

The in-hotel restaurant was closed my first night, a fact I wish the front desk staff would have mentioned, but that is nothing I would really mark them down on.

The hotel serves a lovely expanded continental breakfast on the mezzanine... cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice.

It is a centralized location. The movie house is next door, and the plaza restaurants and Shakespearean theaters are within easy walking distance.

Why would you stay anywhere else?

Room Tip: Check their website for package options, and don't be afraid to ask at the desk.
