“Decreasing quality”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2010

This hotel needs a total make-over. The furniture is outdated, same with linen. But the worse for us was the smell. They allow pets in the hotel so the rooms smelled very bad. We asked if they had rooms reserved for no pets, to which they answered yes, and moved us to another room that was not any different. If you have pets, maybe you will be more tolerant to pet smell, but if you are not, I would say stay away from this hotel.

“Don't plan on sleeping”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2010

I'm at the La Quinta now and wondering if I should just abandon my room and go somewhere else. Even with the window unit air conditioner on and the TV turned up, I can't miss the roar of traffic on the highway below... just outside the hotel. I called the front desk for solutions (change rooms, etc), and was told I might want to get some earplugs. This is ridiculous. In addition to seriously loud traffic noise, the room is also very small and has a distinctive mildew smell to it. This hotel should be avoided if at all possible.

“Would have slept better in my car.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2009

I booked a King suite room, so that it had a separate bedroom and living area. I did this so our two year old would have a place apart from us to sleep. The room was directly behind the front counter, it smelled of chlorine and had loud traffic noise. We asked if there were any other rooms, there was one but it reeked of smoke even though the hotel has a no smoking policy, so we stayed with the noise and chlorine over the smoker room. I ended up atempting to sleep on pull out sofa, they are never comfortable and I did not have much hope for this one and it did not dissapoint. It was horrific. But worse than the bed was the noise. Every time the front desk phone rang, it would jar me awake, as it was on the wall behind my head. The employees at the front desk like to chat late into the night and I could hear their conversation til about 2 am. In addition to that everytime someone walked down the main hall the furniture in the room rattled. Add this to the traffic noise from the street and it was just awful. In addition it is worth noting that while the room was not dirty it was run down. Old carpet, broken shower fixtures, old bedding. It could use some new furniture and paint and it would be alot better, from an aesthetics stanpoint at least.

I honestly feel that I would have slept at least on par with this room if I had slept in my car. At least I would not have had the telephone ringing every couple hours through the night to wake me up.

“Great for a quick stop over.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2009

We stayed here twice. Once going north, and once going south. Good clean basic room. I would suggest that you ask for a room overlooking the parking lot (that's the front) as our second visit was a room on the back and that street is very noisy and not fun when you're deciding to sleep with the window open, or not sleep due to the traffic noise. We've stayed in four or five La Quintas and some are more updated than this one, but what I appreciate with this one is that when you're going to the breakfast, you get to eat the food on real dishes. Every other one is on various qualities of styrofoam plates and bowls and I just find that annoying. Not only is it wasteful, but the cereal bowls cannot handle the weight of its contents and your milk will just drift right over the lip. The husband enjoyed a perfectly cooked waffle, and I really appreciate getting a little protein with the hard-boiled eggs.

“Wouldn't stay there again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2009

Had no choice but to stay there... volleyball team chose the hotel. Our family will not be back. It was very inexpensive, I think we only paid $75/night, but it wasn't worth more, that is for sure.
Our rooms were in the "bunker", as my son called it. :) Definitely basement. Our only window was right near the super low ceiling and was 2 x 3 feet, showing us the ground level grass. The curtains wouldn't completely cover the window either, so sun poured inside when it came up.
Several of the rooms that the team stayed in had a terrible cigarette smell. The whole hotel was supposed to be smoke free, but really couldn't have been. The girls all had the Febreze spray going when they entered their rooms. It was awful.
The heat/air conditioner was so loud that we had trouble sleeping when it was kicking on.
Carpet was dirty. Had sunflower seed shells along the wall in one area.
Bedding and pillows were sub-par.
TV was small.
Free breakfast was lame. They did have one waffle maker, and the girls did take advantage of that.
I will say that the front desk girls were super friendly and tried to help out whenever they could.
