“Poorly managed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

I usually stay at La Quinta Inns because they are reasonable priced, clean, and accept dogs at no additional cost. Since I compete in dog obedience trials, we are in a new town every month and appreciate La Quinta's service. However, Albany was a disappointment. The building was hot; thus, the room was hot and was lucky to be on the second floor so I could open a window throughout our stay. Noisy at night but better than the heat (we're talking mid-September so weather wasn't hot). Breakfast was a disappointment so walked across the street both mornings to a restaurant. The maid service was really poor - no change of towels, no clean coffee mug, and no straightening of the bed. The only thing I could see was the trash cans were emptied. I spoke to the front desk and was offered one towel but the attitude was as though this happens often. I should have stayed across the street from the trial - at the Best Western!

“Not worth the savings”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

Needed an inexpensive room while going between Eugene and Corvallis. Not familiar with the area and found La Quinta through Priceline.
The hotel is in major need of updates. While it is a no smoking property, the stale smell of cigarette smoke is still in the sheet's and carpet and we had to open a window to feel like we could breath.
On the bed, there was only a comforter... no sheet. I have never seen that before. Also, the fitted sheet must not have been the right size for the bed because it kept coming off the mattress.
I am glad that we were only there for a night because this was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

“Decreasing quality”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2010

This hotel needs a total make-over. The furniture is outdated, same with linen. But the worse for us was the smell. They allow pets in the hotel so the rooms smelled very bad. We asked if they had rooms reserved for no pets, to which they answered yes, and moved us to another room that was not any different. If you have pets, maybe you will be more tolerant to pet smell, but if you are not, I would say stay away from this hotel.

“Don't plan on sleeping”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2010

I'm at the La Quinta now and wondering if I should just abandon my room and go somewhere else. Even with the window unit air conditioner on and the TV turned up, I can't miss the roar of traffic on the highway below... just outside the hotel. I called the front desk for solutions (change rooms, etc), and was told I might want to get some earplugs. This is ridiculous. In addition to seriously loud traffic noise, the room is also very small and has a distinctive mildew smell to it. This hotel should be avoided if at all possible.
