“only thing wrong with the complimentary draft HH beer is its yellow, not dark, but hey, thats ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

this hotel is no longer a holiday inn (yay), and therefore worth a stay.

price is a little on the high side ($60), but the day I stayed there, the hotel bar had complimentary HH draft beer (mich ultra, but again, if you do the math-the extra $10 you pay for this property vs the rodeway across the street evens out-breakfast is a comp grand slam at the in-house denny's or a $5.oo credit towards breakfast items (biscuits &gravy, an egg + a drpepper, for instance)--and the breakfast & HH beers seem to apply to all customers, regardless of rate paid. there was a slight maintenance issue with my room, but it was handled promptly.the lobby PC is a true courtesy station.the inbound desk clerk had no problem handling my choice gift card that the loyalty program sent me, and no games were played with my CC*--with that said=there was one vending machine & one guest laundry out of service, but the hotel has two of each.a worth while visit to be sure.

-there is one thing, I noticed, however:from what I could suss out, the hotel bar is a haven for area (north texas/southern oklahoma)(ahem) 'swingers' (and/or karoake)--but hey, thats just rural oklahoma for ya-good times(not illogical, since ardmore is a halfway point between two metro areas, and the hotels there are all reasonably priced).-just be aware you might be witness to some, shall we say, nontraditional mating rituals, if you visit this property's bar.(no judgment here, just observing)w that said: the staff at the bar is friendly, as is the waitstaff at the dennys, and the hotel is currently giving a way a jeep liberty (raffle tickets to be drawn in may), based on stays.(I guess they got an exemption to the no purchase neccessary rule from the OK AG for sweepstakes)

“Nasty rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010 via mobile

Took forever to get checked in. The rooms smelled like mold ... or worse. There was hair on the bathroom floor, in the bathtub and on the bed sheets. I complained with no reaction. The next morning they were out of coffee at 8am. I will not stay here again.

“Terrible experience.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

Likes:
The staff running the desk were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is well located with easy access to the Interstate. I cannot really rate this hotel as I did not stay long enough.

Dislikes:
Found mouse droppings in the bathroom floor and on the bed sheets next to the pillows. I would like to say that this was not just a couple of pieces it was a lot and should have been found by the cleaning staff. This was very disturbing to my family. I was offered another room but declined as my family refused to stay after finding the mouse droppings.

“Great - brought back memories of Holiday Inns of my childhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2010

We were looking for a hotel with an outdoor pool, and were surprised at how hard it was to find one. This is just like the Holiday Inns that I remember staying in as a child. Our room opened up onto a well-manicured garden area. The pool was only a few steps from our door. It was perfect for what we wanted. This is just a simple motel, but the arrangement reminded me of a tropical resort.

The rooms had been updated with good linens. The furnishings were comfortable. My husband really liked the mattress. Our room included a microwave and minifridge. Like the Holiday Inns from my childhood, the bathroom was small and dark, but it had a curved shower rod and good curtain.

The manager at the front desk was welcoming and helpful.

This motel is not fancy, but was perfect for our weekend and we can't wait to sneak down there again.
