The rooms and overall hotels are needing an update. We got there and had to park a mile away because the parking lot was full from some event. Our rooms carpet was filthy. They were housing college students or something in the upper floors. I couldnt get the high speed wireless to work right and I had to call down to the desk and get some numbers. He was rude and the entire room had no pen!! One of the phones was not working.
The next morning the breakfst was lacking and then they said check out was before noon anytime. So we wanted to relax and stay till about 11:45 and watch TV. I saw houskeeping was coming around so we put the do not disturb sign out. Then at 11:15 the desk called up and asked if we planning on staying another night!!! Tottally rude!! I will never stay there again.

We had a new years ever party at the hotel on December 31st, 2008. Its the second year in a row we have done this and it went wonderfully! We also got to stay in the rooms, which were very comfortable and good sized! If you dont know the history of the hotel before you come here, it might not be worth it to you. Because it is slightly outdated, i wouldnt give it 5 stars. However, if you always came to shop at Quaker Square when you were a kid, and know about the silos and hisory of the place, its a great stay! I loved the fact that I will probably never stay in a silo again, and also it was neat how private all the rooms felt. We did not notice any college kids during our stay,. but this could have been because of the holiday break. I'm not sure how it would be during school-time. The staff was vety friendly and the breakfast in the morning was great! I really do not have anything bad to say about this hotel and dont know what all the bad reviews are about.

First off, i loved the history with this place! very interesting stuff. i thought the room and other parts of the building are one of a kind and worth taking pictures of!! yes i did see college students around the building but i did not have any problems with them. nor were they causing any trouble. i stayed on the 1st floor. i want to go back to stay again with my wife this time. i think she would enjoy it. also the breakfast was the best i have every had at a hotel (for free). lots of selection! if you like history and a filling breakfast, stay here!!

  • Liked — history
  • Disliked — room was too dry (from running heater to much)

The hotel is dingy, customer service is awful and 50% of the rooms have been converted over to university dorm rooms. Students roaming the lobby all the time and there was occasional loud music. Yes, the silos are neat but they're not worth putting up with lousy customer service. They have a beautiful restaurant but it's only open for breakfast - closed the rest of the time. The breakfast is included but the eggs tasted like chemicals. Biggest complaint: Local calls and toll-free calls are charged $1 initial charge PLUS 10 cents PER EVERY MINUTE after 30 minutes! The manager wouldn’t budge on giving me a credit for this highway robbery and believe me, I fought long and hard. The staff seems to have forgotten that customers are paying their salary. I’ll make a prediction that they’ll end up converting this whole place to dorm rooms in another year, with this kind of lax customer service. I will not stay here again.

I was planning on staying here, but my plans changed. I canceled my reservation more than a week before, but they didn't process it for some reason. The Inn charged my card anyway and then would not reverse the charge after I called to discuss it with the manager. This is not a reputable business.
