The lobby and common rooms are lovely. The rooms are appointed with upscale bedding. Everything is clean and fresh. The bathrooms are spotless. The breakfast is great. The maids and the breakfast attendant were friendly. However, it is a very difficult place to get a good night's rest so I cannot recommend it.
There is absolutely NO SOUNDPROOFING in the rooms. My room was directly above the pool and from 8:00-10:00 pm, I could hear every scream, laugh. and splash as if I was in the pool room. Once the pool closed, I thought things would improve.....at 11:30 some guests who had been attending a wedding came back. They continued to party, talk loudly, and slam doors until 2:00 am. I was warned by the front desk when checking in that things could get noisy with this group and to call them if I notice anything. I called the desk several times using "0" from 1:00 am to 1:30 am and they did not pick up. I finally called the hotel's phone number with area code and someone answered. The guy working had no explanation for not picking up earlier and he said he would look into it. The noise continued until 2:00 am. I had a long drive ahead of me in the morning and I was exhausted. My suggestion for hotel management: INVEST IN PROPER SOUNDPROOFING or ENFORCE QUIET TIME AFTER 10:00 AM. This hotel might be better on a week-night when quieter clientele are there. I was very unhappy with this experience.
