My daughter, her infant daughter, and I stayed at the Clam Digger while visiting friends from Emerald Isle. The room was somewhat dated but seemed to be very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly to me and to each other! The view from our balcony was very nice. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future however I would eat dinner elsewhere as it was disappointing. Possibly breakfast or lunch is better?

Stayed at this place about 9 years ago and really liked it so we decided to book and return. Not the brightest move we ever made. Our room did pass the clean inspection except the balcony hadn't been touched since summer. Our stay was the second week of October, internet service was a promise that wasn't kept. Had to go to another hotel parking lot to take care of the business that had to be in for work. Promised on Tuesday that it would be fixed the next day, still not fixed on Saturday. The coffee pot was broken, did get them to replace that on Friday, got Saturday morning coffee in the room. They want you to pay 1.75 per cup downstairs. The toilet would not flush unless you held down the handle and then it didn't always work, Never got anything done with that while I was there. The place had a very bad odor. They tried to cover it with so much air freshener that I came home with a bad case of allergies. The AC/heat unit could not be ran at night due to the loud noises it made.

The rooms are all non smoking, knew that going in, but once we got there they told use we could not smoke on the balcony either, did not tell us this before they took our reservations. I did ask about the smoking before booking. Although the hotel was a bust, our trip was very enjoyable. Hey, we were there, we went to have fun, so we did. Just gonna choice a different hotel the next time out. The rates were decent, for the week days (65 per night) jumped to 110 per night for weekends. And this was their off season prices.

We spent a long weekend and plan to go back again as soon as we can. Nice room for the rate. All rooms are ocean front with wide beach front access. It was nice in the morning to grab a cup of coffee in the restaurant and take a walk on the beach. The service was good and friendly. We requested extra pillows and they evern brought them to our room. All the extras you need away from home were in the room. Refrigerator, hair dryer, ironing board, mini frig and microwave, We enjoyed the restaurant as well, good food and service.

I stay in at least 15 different hotels a year and this is my first ever review! For this price I at least expected a less icky room. the yellow gold colored lights and the base of the TV all have a white spray film on them. Like someone sprayed them then only half wiped them off. The light above the sink only turns on if you fiddle with the switch for a few minutes. Loose connection somewhere in there. I'm wearing flip flops on the shower! That's right I'm paying all this money and feel like I'm staying at a campground! The shower walls are stained and the tub under the bath mat is moldy and stained. My shower at home doesn't even look like this and I only clean it once every few months.

The good stuff is that it is right on the beach. You could throw stone into the water. Unfortunately you cannot sleep with the balcony door open to listen to the waves. There were bats flying into the glass door all night long. In all fairness there is nothing the hotel can do about the animals through. I easily passed at least 10 other ocean front hotels on my here yesterday. One of them HAS to be cleaner! I wont be back here again.
