“"Winter Vacation Home"”

The relaxation of being at the ocean, listenting to the waves break on the beach, or a walk on the beach, and enjoying all of nature that has been beautifully kept. The Hosts and the staff are beyond words in service, friendliness, the units serve all our needs for the 3 months that we stay at Atlantis Lodge. Local resturant abound, as well as tourist attaractions in the off season, we have met many people over the 25 + years of going to Atlantis. a great place to renew friendships and make new ones. Pets are welcome, and they are all well behaved. Only place on the Ocean worth staying at. Donna the G.M., is constantly updating the place, but it holds its true love " Quiet Place", A great place for family's in the summer. This is where I renew myself for whatever the coming year has in store for me, with a cup of coffee, and watching the sunrise, at the situm, or in the evening with a glass of wine watching the sun go down, and visit with the many wonderful people that also found the Atlantis, a place to enjoy.

Room Tip: Make a reservation well advance of your planned trip to Atlantis Lodge

We really enjoyed our stay at the Atlantis. We had a great view of the ocean--make sure you book rooms on the second or third story. Great retro feel in our room. Really nice beach to walk on and go swimming. We enjoyed all the dogs too.

“Somewhat changed....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

The Atlantis still has spectacular views and the lovely maritime forest that is finally growing back, I heard, from a severe pruning early this year. The grounds are beautiful. The pet policy is wonderful for pet owners. If only all the pet owners were more mindful of cleaning up after their pets!! The rising rates suggest a more up scale property.

Room Tip: upper floors, end rooms

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. I wish I knew how to get all of our guests to pick up after their pets! Any suggestions? I've actually thought about installing security cameras! Nothing is worse than walking your dog at night and stepping in a pile of poop!
It's funny to me that some people think they are above picking up poop :) That's just part of being a responsible dog owner. I've tried to make it easier by putting scoops all around the property. They don't even have to touch it! Just scoop and toss in the bushes! It doesn't get any easier than that!
Hope you come back to see us soon!

“What a great hotel !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

My wife found this hotel on our way to the Sieger show in Va. We have to stay at a Pet friendly Hotel as we have a 2 year old German Shepherd Show dog. We arrived and checked in to the hotel, we found our room(Hotel Staff showed us where our room was) The room was very clean and tidy with modern amenities, but had a certain flair about it. Retro?? I grew up in the mid 70's and it was just a perfect room. They even had a biscuit for my pup. The view out the sliding back door was fantastic not to mention you can hear the ocean, The grounds are very well kept and wonderfully manicured, and we just had a really great time, so on our way back from Va. we made reservations for another night. This is our new favorite hideaway ! When I return from Afghanistan we will be back for sure !

Room Tip: We stayed on the right hand side 1st floor. Same room both times.

We love to travel with our dog. Pet friendly properties at the beach are hard to find. This place not only welcomes pets but plans for them. Scoops placed around the landscaping encourages owners to pick up after their dogs in an environmentally friendly way. Our room was just the right size for 2 people and a pet with a killer view of the ocean from the deck. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

Room Tip: We stayed second floor in the center complex to the north and had a great ocean view. Third would b...

We agree with you that pet places are hard to find on the beach and we are pleased to provide you with one of those places. Some areas have time constraints of when pets are allowed on the beach, especially during the Summer months. That is not the case in the town we are in. Pets just have to be on a leash and owners clean behind them and they can enjoy fun in the sun with their 'parents'! We have one size pet-friendly room that accommodates up to 4 people and 2 pets and another size pet-friendly room that accommodates up to 6 people and 2 pets. Pet-friendly rooms can be found on all three floors of the lodge and all have kitchen areas, but glad you were able to try one of the local restaurants for seafood. We will look forward to your return!
