I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed my stay. I have now stayed here for two years. My husband and I brought my parents and I must say this was such a nice quaint little place to stay. The rooms are all very affordable and my dad loved being able to sit and talk to all of the other guests on the front and listen to all of the fishing stories. I would recommend this to anyone and couldn't understand why anyone would have anything bad to say about this motel. The prices are GREAT the room is CLEAN and everyone seems to be so FRIENDLY!!!!!

Our second time in Atlantic Beach (Sand Dollar Motel) in 3 years. We have family here. The motel room was extra clean and we are always greeted with a smile from both Sam and Tricia. We had the efficiency suite and had all we needed for a comfortable and affordable stay(5 nights). The owners keep this motel spic and span and that's the way we like it.We had stayed many nights in some big chain hotels on our way down to NC and boys could they use some pointers from these guys. My husband, 2 kids, and I stayed here the 2nd week of August. Honestly, when I first booked the room, I was a little nervous because it was privately owned. Sometimes you never know if you are going to get a run, down, shabby place with rats and roaches. The Sand Dollar was very nice though. Of course, it is not the Sheraton, but they don't charge like the Sheraton either. It is, however, VERY clean and VERY affordable. The owners are extremely nice!!!! We rented a 2 bedroom apartment and it had more than enough room for the 4 of us. For all of you tall guys out there, their shower comfortably fits a 6 ft. tall guy. I know this is a plus since some places have showers built for kids only. I will be bringing my parents back here next year when I visit again. Thanks for a relaxing week. We love Atlantic Beach! I hope you all weathered the storm well. I do have 2 recommendations though. The first would be to get a new bed in the front room of Room 5, I think it was. It was quite uncomfortable. I didn't sleep well at all on it. I woke up every morning sore as I could be. It was a little too hard for me, but that could just be a personal preference. The second recommendation would be to put a shelf or small stand in the bathroom for women to place their beauty products and hairdryers on. It wouldn't have to be anything expensive either. I found it to be a little hard getting ready sometimes because I didn't have anywhere to put my stuff other than the sink. Other than that, everything was wonderful!!!!!!! Thanks again!!!

Great, clean and family oriented place to stay at the beach. The owners are friendly and wonderful! They take great pride in their motel. If you're looking for a clean, quiet, close to beach location... This is the place. Might be an older motel, but it's a hidden gem.
