We visited Atlantic Beach during our Spring Break at the end of March. The weather was abysmal, but you can't change that. The living area was nice, small TV, somewhat equipped kitchen with plates, knife set, bowls, stove. Everything was neat and clean. There was wifi access (whether or not it was SDM's wifi or not, I'm not sure @~167kbps down, 71kbps up. Good speeds). The owners were nice, Sam was very amiable and the women (I didn't catch her name) was very nice and provided us with lots of info about Atlantic Beach/Moorehead City. I didn't get as much rest as I would have liked to as the walls didn't provide much barrier from the noise neighbors next to us in the morning. The all-caps signs, albeit necessary were a little off-putting. The no guest policy was a little harsh, although I can see the purpose in it. We wouldn't have had guests anyway. The charcoal grill provided was adequate. We spent a lot of time out on the beach taking pictures, mountain biking at Fort Macon and in Havelock, NC. Very good price. Would definitely recommend.

Greetings~

Just want to add to the other reviews that these folks are the BEST. They really try hard to make your stay wonderful. Patricia has been so good to me and patient and accommodating and lots of OTHER positive adjectives!!! Great location and rooms for every type of need or desire. Great FALL rates too so take advantage of the OFF season! Now you can stay at a place that knows you only by your room number or you can stay with people who want to know your NAME and remember your FACE. It's up to you...( but really, it's a no-brainer isn't it...) Enjoy!

We just returned from Atlantic Beach and we had a great time!! The Sand Dollar was perfect for us, as all we ever really need for a beach vacation is a bed and a bathroom :) The owners could not be nicer! They answered my questions about the sea turtle nest (which I'm sure sounded crazy), but they were patient and even offered to find out more information for me! Our room was immaculate when we got there. They don't offer daily housekeeping, which is fine with me, I don't clean my bathroom everyday, or make my bed everyday, I don't expect someone else to do it for me just because I'm on vacation, but everyday we were asked if we needed anything or if we needed our room freshened up. Our room was located around the back of the building, but that was perfect because it was SO quiet. I was able to sit outside of our room in the evening and read a book in absolute peace. The location of the motel is great also. It was close to everything that we needed. It was only a short walk to the beach and a fairly short (if you know where you're going) drive to anywhere else! Overall it was a wonderful place for my boyfriend and I. We had a great time and hope to come back in the future!!!

we have been staying at the SAND DOLLAR every trip to atlantic beach. TRISH&SAM are some of the NICEST people we have met at the beach.They really TRY HARD to make everyone fill at home.. they are great owners &the hospitality is excellent.As far as we are concerned their is only one motel in AB. ROBBIE&MICHELLE WOODARD

Lots of places to eat nearby, very close to the beach! Owners were very friendly and the place is priced right!
