“#2 on my list of nasty hotels”

I am surprised that we didn't all get the clap from staying here.

Carpets were dirty, beds were uncomfortable. They used flat sheets instead of fitted on the beds, so that everytime you would turn over it would come untucked and you would touch the mattress (shudder). I didn't fall asleep until 4 in the morning thinking about it. The tv was old. I refused to take a shower, because when my husband did, the tub had 6 inches of water in it and I knew that if I took a shower, it would have 12 inches of water in it and I would get some sort of foot rot or something. In the morning my kids started yelling because there was a cockroach crawling on the wall.

We went to do laundry, but they had no detergent and you had to go to the front desk to pay for the washer and dryer.

There were signs of construction, and the hotel definitly needs serious updating. The rooms weren't even that cheap. The only reason we stayed there was that there was truck parking.

I will certainly find a different hotel with truck parking in the future.

“Smelly, but good price, poor wi-fi”

I was staying in the RDU area and the hotel I was at did not have a room for me as I had to stay an extra night. I was looking for value and found this Days Inn - Apex, NC. The price was reasonable, about $55, however the hotel itself is in bad shape. The front desk staff was friendly. I really just needed internet access and a clean room, and I didn't get either. Aside from being an older property without updates, my room was smelly although it was clean. The smell was most likely a mildew smell. The other complaint is that they offer wireless internet service, but it isn't available in all rooms. My room had intermittent service and wasn't very reliable. The pool on property was closed and in disrepair.

“A Dump”

This hotel is a DUMP! My husband and I stayed here while looking for housing in the Raleigh area (we will be relocating in a few months). We were trying to take a budget trip--however, there are several hotels in the area that are in the same price range which we KNOW are significantly nicer--DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The hotel smells awful--like a combination of smoke and mildew.

When we first arrived, we were given a room in which the lock didn't work properly--it took 5-10 tries to get the door open. We were told "there is a trick to it," when seeking the manager out for help. He tried to model opening the door, but it took him 5-10 tries to get it open. We asked for another room and after some debate, were given another room. After about 20 minutes of settling into our room, there was a knock on the door. It was another guest who had previously been assigned to the room. We all proceeded to the front desk for some resolution. The front desk clerks barely speak English and were not interested in rectifying the problem.

Finally, we were given another room--smoky (we're both non-smokers), the bathroom door was dirty, the sheets had stains on them, the blanket was rough and had holes in it.

I am not a picky traveler and can be pretty patient, but this was an AWFUL experience and you couldn't pay me to spend another night in this hotel.

STAY AWAY!!!

“Yuckadoo!”

Glad the title cought your attention!... NOW DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT stay here. The place stinks, I'm serious, it stinks. Smells like mold and mildew. It should have the Health Inspector come in and have it cleaned. If I were desperate, I would stay here, but not for even 40 dollars a night. It is worth more about 10-15/a night. Also, the staff was helpless, I called for directions 4 times. There was a really bad connection on their phone, I could barely hear them. Additionally, the two people working while I was there could barely speak english. Seriously, the two people's accent was very thick, and I had to ask them several times the same question before my brain could decifer it. I would suggest for you to stear clear of this establishment!

“Don't stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2004

I had occasion to stay here overnight due to working late and having to be in early the next day. I should have just slept in my car in the parking lot at work. The building itself is old - and hasn't been kept up. The entire place had a musty smell to it. I turned the heat as high as it would go and the room was still cold. And the heater itself was so loud that I had to turn the TV up very high to hear it. I was afraid the TV was so loud it would disturb neighboring guests. There were holes in the bedspread. The place did seem to be relatively clean - just old and run down. Save your money - don't stay here. There are plenty of places close by that aren't much more expensive that are in better shape.
