This was our first visit to Turgutreis.We have been to a few places in Turkey but Turgutreis is the best so far.The town is bustling with locals and tourists.There are little allyways of the beachfront packed with shops , hairdressers and restaurants.The palmiye apartments are lovely.When arriving we were shown to the rooms by the two brothers who run it.They carried our cases and were most helpful during our stay of two weeks.VERY clean and comfortable and quiet.Location fab just a stroll to the beach and centre.Could not find fault with anything.

This was our first holiday in Turkey and the warm welcome received by everyone in Turgutreis has ensured we will visit Turkey again. We travelled with Cosmos and our rep was surprised that it was our first time at Palmiye as she said most clients are repeat business. This was backed up by people we came across in the town, waiters etc, who said that many people return to Palmiye year after year - what better advert can you ask for? Palmiye is a small, family run complex of about 17 apartments. We had a spacious 2-bed apartment on the top floor, very clean and well equipped with the added bonus of 2 bathrooms.
The pool was clean with an adequate amount of sunbeds and umbrellas. At any one time about half the people around the pool were not actually staying at the complex, but this didn't seem to be a problem. It seems to be standard practice at places like this so long as you make use of the pool bar (certainly this is the case in the small complexes we've stayed at in Greece). Pool bar serves excellent snacks and an evening meal upon request.
The family and staff that run Palmiye are warm, friendly and attentive and seem to work all hours! A word of warning - beware the ice cold water gun!!!
Location was great for us, within easy reach of the beach, market, shops, bars and restaurants, but not too close for any noise to be intrusive. In fact it was rare to hear any noise at all at night (apart from a particularly noisy dog).

My 1st time at the Palmiye but my friend had been several times. Staff were totally welcoming to us and immedietly treated as family. We arrived very late (early hours) but were shown to our room without delay and offered a drink.
The room was brilliant, we actually had a double bed and had asked for a twin and was told we could change in the morning as he didn't know ofhand which was a twin. In the morning we decided not to bother changing as the bed was big enought, the rest of the room large enough, balcony had a great view and we were happy.

We mainly used the beach during the day on this holiday as there was very little sun at this time of the year at the Palmyre due to the buildings, it no bother having a 5 min walk there and back. We did stay in and have an early evening drink and found all the staff/other guests so welcoming we stayed on for a meal. which was best steak I've ever had! Truth, cooked to how we liked it and presented so very well with carved tomatoes!
Wouldn't hesitate to return and infact I think we are this summer!

Lovely place, lovely people and I wish I was there now.

Stayed at Palmiye in October this year. Only a few apartments were occupied as it was the end of season. Clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation all overlooking the swimming pool and pool bar. Run by Cercan and his English wife Amanda. All staff friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Location is brilliant. Everything is within a short walking distance (5 - 15 mins) - beautiful beach and promenade, new marina and "posh" shops, old town bazar, shops and market, bus (dolmus) station and loads of superb restaurants and bars. Try "Friends" in the old centre - superb food and service. It's very easy to get out and about. Local cheap dolmus run to Yalikavak, Akyalar, Gumusluk and Bodrum - all worth a visit. We walked to Gumusluk and got the bus back (took about 1.5 hrs to walk). It's nice to walk along the promenade - all the big hotels are together in the direction of Gumusluk and to the new marina is in the other direction. Turgutreis is a perfect destination - it has something for everyone and the local scenery is beautiful with Cos and Kalymnos just across the water.
