“dont go there”

Went to the Aegean dream Oct 11 for 10 days.First day great then the weather changed and
then the problems began. We booked for a select room big mistake, the weather was so bad the
rain and wind broke the balcony door, rain soaked everything in room,we were up to our ankles
in water and water was coming through the light on the ceiling in shower.Had problems getting to breakfast as there was no cover on walkway to dining room,we eventually got there to wade through water to get our breakfast. The sewer cover on the walkway at the side of the pool was pushed up and raw sewerage was pouring out, this went on for three days before any one came to fix it.There were a lot more things, but to many to mention. This should have been a 4 star hotel more 2*,so if you are going lets hope it doesn't rain. Will go back to turkey but not this hotel.

Room Tip: Dont pay extra for select room

“First time, would return”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Arrived for a weeks holiday in august, 2 adults, 1 child (12). Had double room with single soft bed. The double bed was huge. Room adequate size, bathroom clean. Only one thing i would say is that the balcony was extremely small. Couldn't imagine trying to sit on it as only room for 2 chairs pushed together, but it was ideal for drying swimwear and lilo's. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location. The grounds are well kept and very clean. The pool is not very large and at first sight thought this would make it very busy but this was never the case. There is a separate pool for the waterslides that kept my son amused for hours. Due to its vicinity to the beach you always had the choice sea or pool. We sunbathed on the water jetty by choice everyday and had a 30 second walk to the pool if you wanted a swim. Never a problem getting a sunbed even in august, but would suggest getting a bed by 10am. Free watersports are on offer different times of the day.
Food in the buffet can be repetitive. Ideal for breakfast, can have fresh cooked ommellettes and eggs, plenty of choice, staff always friendly. Never ate there at lunch, used the snack bar downstairs, pizza, chicken, salad. Tried 3 of the a la cartes, Fish - food and views fantastic. Turkish - Very good, very filling. Select - food was good, unfortunately we were not able to sit of the deck area on the sea as was very windy on our booked day. Overall, definately try a la cartes, its stops the repetitivness of the buffet, but plenty of choice should find something for everyone to eat.
Entertainment - Can't comment on childrens but the later entertainment was adequate, what you would expect. they did there best, some funny, some corney, typical holiday entertainment.
Had a late return flight, didn't bother to book late room, checked out of room by 12pm, they lock your luggage in a room, and used the shower facilities in the spa in evening.
Overall we all enjoyed this holliday, would return to this hotel, weather was fantastic, would definately recommend being on the jettys if you dont have young children, as seabreeze very refreshing, and bar just on the end. Didn't encounter any long queues for anything.

“Great Holiday, Will Go Again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We went to the Aegean Dream in June for a weeks holiday. On arrival we were very happy with our room and the bit of the hotel we could see in the dark hours of 3am! The next morning we woke just as happy and had a wander around the hotel and the town.

- The hotel and setting is lovely, brilliant location and wonderful sights, we stayed in the select rooms which were nice, clean and modern. Ours was a family room, one huge double bed and two singles as you walk through the door.. built in wardrobs, flat screen tele, balconey with stunning view and a clean bathroom.

- Food ok and basic but if im honset we didnt eat much as we went out to the little cafe called "cool breeze" a lot of the time as we became friends with the guys who worked there.

- As far as we saw the hotel was clean with maids and staff on all the time, we never really had a problem with the sunbeds other then some rude scottish people hogging a few which didnt go down very well with me.

- Turgutreis town is sweet, shopping is good and there is a million places to eat and drink. Be prepared to be bugged though, people always want you to come in and have a drink or buy something but they're very friendly and will leave you be if you say no.

The only problem we had was the door to our room, it was a little stiff when we first went in but we paid this no attention. We came back into our room about 2 days into the holiday and noticed green water running down the front and also a small leak from the ceiling in our second room... both of these were reported but not dealt with until we put our foot down and went down to reception and demanded someone to come and look as it was getting so bad that we couldnt shut the door without getting soaked in mouldy water. (they didnt take us seriously due to being under 30)
We did get moved to another select room that was beautiful and everything went brilliantly from there.

Great place, great holiday will be going back this June :)

Room Tip: Take a select room - its well worth the upgrade

“Would be back in an instant”

The hotel building itself is a little dated (can see it was state of the art when built but needs a little TLC) but the location, staff, food, activities and everything else were just perfect. We were there will my young daughter and my elderly parents and it was much better than expected. The food is simply amazing and we ate in the main restaurant most nights rather than the fancier alternatives. The pool could be bigger but the sea is crystal clear and wonderful for swimming so we didn't bother much with the pool. The rooms were a little dated but still large, cooled by aircon and comfortable. The free watersports are well run and the walk along the sea front to the town is beautiful. And on top of all this, the staff are top notch. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Plenty of people have been complaining about the shower temperature but it is fine if you don't whack the hot up to full. In addition, I witnessed one family (parents and one child) moaning on arrival about the lack of a sea view before they had even opened the door to their room (they had a sea view) so some people are born to moan and more than a fair share of those moaners seem to visit this hotel by the looks of the reviews! This hotel is not up to Ireland or UK 5-star standards but the hotel isn't located in either Ireland nor the UK either. The hotel is fabulous. Enjoy.

Room Tip: Given the evening activities around the pool, it might be better not to have a pool view room if you...

“Real 5 star”

This was our first all inclusive hotel , having been satisfied with 4* before and not feeling that we would get value from the all inclusive premium. This hotel changed all that. The location, quality of the accommodation and the food choice were all superb. Entertainment was sufficient without aiming to be professional. The animation team were great as were the staff. If all this sounds too good to be true we would have not believed it possible beforehand. One of those holidays that stand out as being memorable. In the autumn we did a 3* in Cyprus, but of course, we had been spoiled. We have now booked all inclusive in Turkey for May 2012. Guess where?
