“Nice hotel, great rooms, shame about the entertainment and facilities. Overall though a really great holiday”

Very nice hotel, lovely food (especially turkish night), lots a quiet little spots where you can escape. I would definately go back, although not in October which turned out to be storm season (!!).

The only real disappointment came after dinner, where there seemed to be absolutely nothing to do! There is a really cool underground club which we had to discover ourselves on day 4 of our 7 day visit, as nobody had told us about it, however for adults it only opens at 11pm. We attempted to go there one night but we were the only ones in there, so we did an about-turn. I can imagine this would be really fun in the summer though when its busier.

The actual site of this resort is massive, and once upon a time I think would have deserved 5*, but with basketball courts, tennis courts, mini golf, a mini zoo etc ALL out of use, with broken fences and leaves and mush all over them it really only deserves 3 stars. The animation team have an office seemingly full of games that you can borrow, but on further inspection most of these are just empty cardboard boxes which used to contain games. Also, upstairs from the reception area is a room for the older ladies to congregate for bridge and another room with a pool table (which is locked and was apparently out of order) and another room with a table tennis table. To play table tennis you have to get a bats a ball from the animation team, however it took us until the final night to do this as the animation team office is only open til about 5 and you cant access anything after this time, so by the time we though we might like a game it was always too late.

If we return we will arm ourselves with evening entertainment such as cards, board games and films.

Moving on...

We had two really good days of exploring on the dolmus, and would definately recommend this. You have to walk to the entrance of the resort and just wait for a minibus to go by with the name of the town your aiming for. Its 3 lira each (£1) and you pay when you get off at your destination, comes every half hour. very easy to use and very friendly people. We went to turgetreis one day (15 minutes on the bus, has a marina and restaurants, shops and a market) and to Gumusluk the next day. Gumusluk was lovely, a small fishing village wiht a market and loads of fish restaurants. We went in search of the underwater city by walking to the right up the beach and up the end hill although didnt see it as it had rained and the sea level was too high. However it was a lovely walk. On our way back we went into a lovely little restaurant on a white decking with white floral cushions and tree's in the water with decorations, it was extremely quaint and an idylllic spot, and the food was amazing. i recommend the fish casserole. a-mazing.

On our final day we went on jeep safari (thomson trip) and this was definitely our best day!! you get picked up by an open top jeep at the hotel and taken off road through the mountains of budrum, stopping off at some interesting spots including a real working farm and a traditional village. We came back covered in mud from our driver speeding through puddles on the journey, I haven't laughed so much in ages. Definatley recommend!

In summary, like all holiday you have to make the most of opportunites availabel to you, if you stayed in the resort you woiuld get bored very quickly. We had a brilliant time and probably would return.

Room Tip: most of the bedrooms are up loads of steps as the resort on on the edge of a hill. make sure you req...

“amazing hotel when the suns out!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one week 7-13th October the hotel is lovely but a bit dated food was great especially the Turkish breakfast kebabs and Turkish night and the waiters were nice the views are amazing our room was lovely although due to the constant rain in the evening our room flooded.
the area this hotel lets its customers down on is at night no entertainment badly kept pool ,snooker room (closed for whole holiday) and table tennis rooms (bats only available in day time!) a cinema area that was never on there is nothing here to do at night for children most families had to just sit in the main foyer all night playing board games I mentioned the lack of entertainment to the reception and the animation team and just got a rude response Hotel advertises having tennis, basketball, mini zoo mini golf for children all these facilities are in a bad state of repair or none existent the gym was good but again not open at night! This is a good hotel if all you want to do is drink and sunbath and admire the view. we went out on the dolmous to gumeslut and turguietries only 3tl each way we also went on the jeep safari organised by Thomson (highly recommended) all in all was a good holiday as long as the weather is nice as when it is raining facilities are none existent I would go again but I’ll bring things to do in the evening next time.

Room Tip: try and get a room in the 600's if you dont mind stairs as the view is amazing

“Don't go here for October 1/2 term holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

The Kadikale Resort has a wonderful hotel, very new looking, clean with spacious accommodation and wonderful views. Water slides but only one on at a time for certain times of the day. BUT, do not book an end of season holiday here because everything closes around you while you are at the hotel. The food choice, (what food was available was very good but every day more and more food items were missing and all we were told was 'END OF SEASON'. As for pizza's and ice-cream etc at the beach bar. They were not available either because it was 'END OF SEASON'. As for the entertainment and all the facilities. The entertainment was well, simply none what-so-ever. Nothing during the day and no shows in the evening. Thank goodness we took a pack of cards with us. We had three children with us ranging from 2 x 9 years and 1 x 12 years. But there are only so many games of old maid you can play. LOL. The animation team told us the manager took their equipment away (because it was the 'END OF SEASON'). The facilities e.g. mini golf could not have been used all season either because it was lethal to go on. We took photos and believe me you would not want anyone trying to use it. Jagged edges to name but one. The outdoor chess set was broken to pieces, and the indoor table tennis could not be used due to it being surrounded by junk and up against a billiard table. The outdoor Theatre was covered in weeds and junk although we were told by the reception to go there at night for entertainment. There never was any. The manager just kept fobbing us off and lied on several occasions regarding the so called entertainment. The cinema was also not used, but advertised as being so. Even the Cosmos rep there (who has been there for two years) did not check the facilities or she would have known how bad it was. She only checked them after ourselves and two other families complained. Even she agreed we needed compensation for this, which was given. This hotel is probably best visited in the main season time, but even then the facilities(which are advertised in the brochures) are in a bad state and have been all year by the looks of them. Plant growth doesn't happen overnight. No doubt holiday makers have been fobbed off by the manager all season regarding them. So if you like using the facilities the brochures are saying are available, do be aware that at this resort they probably are not. We chose this hotel because of the things it had there for children but it really was very poor indeed. So if you just like chilling round a pool then this is a great place to do it. One other thing, I would not recommend the Jeep Safari either. You spend all day on a jeep with no commentary (the driver doesn't speak English) and all you get to see are lots of dirty toilets and cafes, you get dumped on a dirty, stoney beach and the Turtles you are told you will see do not exist. You simply get taken to a murkey old lake with nothing there. (Our kids were extremely disappointed with this as it was the turtles that encouraged them to come on the trip in the first place). But would strongly recommend the Dream Girls night out. It is hilarious. It's not all bad here as you can read from my review but my advice for this hotel is, check it out thoroughly with your travel agent before you book and do not go at 'THE END OF THE SEASON'.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room the best ones to ask for are the ones away from the main reception. But du...

“A good all round hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

Great place, good staff and night life. Plenty of room, but was crowded around the pool.
Kids had a great time with the animation team too.

“Worth every penny!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

I stayed for one week 9-16th October 2011 with my girlfriend.

Ok, I would like to start by saying I had an absolutely great time on this holiday, we arrived at 5.45am and was taken to our room. The room was immaculate, spacious and plenty of wardrobe space. A safe was in the wardrobe also. Clean towells, toiletries etc. We asked for a garden view however I would have definitely of got a sea view had I realised just how nice it would have looked.

The pool was lovely, nice and cold but most importantly CLEAN. No problems in getting a sun lounger any day we were there. Music played over the speakers for most of the day.

The bars were always stocked, plenty of coke, beer, spirits for your liking. Food was also great, I have read a lot of reviews on here about bad food and repetitive but you have to remeber that they are catering for a lot of people who have a variety of tastes. In my opinion the food was great, soup and bread to the right, pizza to the left along with turkey, lamb, chicken, plenty of veg and if you want to try some traditional food then you only have to look straight down the middle where you could find it. To be honest I didnt bother with the waiters in the food part, you dont need too. You can get yourself a table and then just go up to the bar which is in there and get yourself a drink. Although every waiter seemed reasonably friendly to me!

At night the atmosphere was good, The mrs and I met some lovely people out here and during the evenings we ended up playing drinking games and then heading off the to hotel disco which was always a laugh. DJ Max is a nice bloke and always takes your requests.

More plus sides to this resort.... The pier and the man made beach are great, you can swim in the warm sea and also you can grab yourself a canoe or pedoloe for free and knacker yourself out trying to make it to the little island.....

However in my opinion these below are the bad points and certainly need looking at.....

1. No entertainment, not sure who was to blame for this the hotel or thomson..... But even so there was just no entertainment, the animations team although friendly provided only Water Polo at 1500 hours and that was it. Even when a few of us asked them to arrange a little footy match they got the players but didnt sort out the pitch so three of us had to spend 20 minutes clearing the water off the pitch ourselves because they didnt bother turning up to play with us or at least run it. At night there was nothing.... I remember our second evening here we played drinking games which involved dares everyone was watching and laughing, even the bar staff were getting involved.... We felt like celebrities the next day with people we had no idea we had met coming up to us thanking us for providing such a funny evening.... And for all of you out there wondering if we asked why there was no entertainment, we did. The answer: Its nearing the end of the season. A ridiculous comment when there is still over 300 guests if not more in the hotel.

2. THE CATS!!!! Now some people when there having dinner did not mind the stray cats wandering around and nor did i at first it was only when they started coming too close that it become frustrating, so if your not keen on cats then make sure you tell your waiter as he will ensure they stay away from your table.

3. The resort needs a general tidy up, I ventured into the table tennis room to play when it was raining and although the table was fully kitted and in good shape the table behind it was broken and had just been left untidy and very dirty. To me thats a very quick job and if this hotel wants to improve it really is the small things that they should build on.

Please do not read the three bad points on this review and think oh well im not going here, its so easy to write bad points on reviews. You have to look at the bigger picture.....

Hot weather
Nice people
Friendly staff
Good food
Good pools
A pier
Man made beach
Free canoes and pedelo

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone......

Room Tip: Sea view (but the others are just as nice)
