“Good for young people who want to party and for families.”

I thought it was only fair to add my thoughts about this hotel.

The hotel is perfect for young people, from the moment we arrived the music was banging till 4am, when I say banging, it was very loud. I went on a girly holiday with 6 friends and had a blast. Hotel staff are friendly and overall the hotel was good for the price we paid as we were mostly out of the hotel.

Hotel is not family friendly especially if you have very young ones. Loads of stairs to the roof and no lift.

The beach was filthy as there was floating bags, bottles, junks floating around.
PLEASE AVOID the bazzar that you have to pay your tour guide for as its not worth it, they sell, fish, meat and fruit and veg so and bad quality staff, your better off going to your own markets in your own country.

If you follow the beach you will find yourself at bar st, I recommend X-BAR it is wicked!! they have really good places to eat there too.

please dont book any excurision with travel agents as they charge n arm n a leg, so please look around, we went too a few and it cost us £60 onlys and one was over night stay.

Overall it was a good holiday and the hotel was good.

“NOT family friendly in the slightest”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We stayed at the Siesta Beach between 17-24th October. I had booked this holiday as it was very reasonably priced and was supposedly family friendly.

Upon check in I specifically requested a room away from the dolphin bar as we had our 23 month old son with us and I didn't want him being disturbed by the noise. We were given apartment 209, the balcony gave us a view directly of the dolphin bar and we were rewarded with the bass at night when we were trying to sleep.

We used the top pool once, whilst very clean and with a lovely view of Gumbet, the water was freezing cold. There was nothing here for my son to do. There was a nice small park within walking distance.

The apartments are overrun with stray dogs and cats, 2 dogs fought very close to my son one evening which I found worrying.

The music from the dolphin bar was incredibly loud, they were also playing songs which had pronfanities in them at 2pm, something which I feel is not child friendly.

The apartments are on the beach, this is a shingle beach and we found this end to be quite dirty. Further around the bay the beach appears cleaner.

Our apartment was a 1 bedroom, so we had a seperate living room. Upon arrival there were what looked like blood stains on the bathroom wall. The travel cot was also badly stained. However we did have clean towels every day. The kitchen was basic with a kettle and 2 hobs for cooking but no grill/toaster.

The supermarket on site is pretty expensive, there are cheaper ones. The bus stops right outside to travel into Bodrum and there is a supermarket on the way it can drop you off at.

Overall I am in the process of writing a complaint about my trip to First Choice. I appreciate some people have enjoyed their stay here but I certainly did not. I also found many of the male staff to be quite sleazy. Sorry, just my opinion. I won't be returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the dolphin bar, rooms starting with 3 or 4 would be best

“death trap hotel”

booked a two week half board holiday for myself husband and two young children where to start first took to our room by what can only be described as a tramp he ran off with our cases with y husband following whilst i am left at top of 30 stairs with my two children bearing in mind had asked for ground floor as our children are disabled. Got to room 107 door handle hanging off door electric fuse box hanging from wall cig burns in furniture smell of urine and god knows what else lights flickering on and off then no electric at all , asked to move rooms by which we where greeted with muttering under breath from staff was given room 218 which was not much better informed reception that there was no bedding or a cot was told sorry have no staff nothing we can do so my husband had to move all our cases cot bedding back up 30 flights of stairs on his own all the while the staff muttering under their breath it was 3.00am before he had finished.Went for breakfast whilst waiting for rep only thing edible was boiled eggs have been to turkey on numerous occasions and no what to expect from a 3star hotel the juice machines where absolutely filthy the high chairs would not have put a dog in the place is totally unhygenic. Told rep of our probs in meantime another cot was brought to room with what can only be described as a four inch nail sticking from the top of it this could have quite easily maimed one of my children that was the final straw asked to be moved due to safety and hygiene issues and that first choice had not provide the basic 3 star accomodation and half board basis that we had asked for. after wasting two days of our holiday and much arguements with first choice rep got a move to to the jasmine beach was like another world it was like the ritz compared to siesta and this was a 3 star rating aswell. had to pay £390 to move to a safe environment for our children also we had moved from so called half board to s/c.I never have found myself have to complain about a so called hotel in my life before but people should be made aware of just what sort of accomodation fisrt choice gives its customers which they deem to be acceptable to be honest i have never experienced anything in my life lik this before and hope that people to take notice when i say you take your life in your hands if you stay here its not fit for human habitation it should be closed down immediately.

“Nice break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

We stayed at the Siesta for a week at the beginning of October, enjoyed our stay and worth what we paid.. here are my thoughts:

Location – The hotel is on the beachfront, but is on the outskirts of Gumbet, only a short walk to the main shops, bars & restaurants. The bus to Bodrum stops right outside the hotel which is really handy and we took advantage of.

Rooms – We stayed in a 1 bed, refurbished apartment which was nice & had everything we needed but we did find it a little dark & dingy & it wasn’t very clean, the maid service was also poor compared to other hotels we have stayed at.

We used the top pool, which was nice & quiet, but it was a bit of a walk & there were plenty of steps to climb, we never used the pool at the front of the hotel as the music is so loud from the bar.

There is plenty to do in Gumbet, & Bodrum is defiantly worth a visit, I wouldn’t go so late in the season again though because it was so quiet both at the hotel & in the town, lots of the bars, shops & restaurants were also starting to close down for the end of the season.
