“Brilliant”

We arrived from the airport at around 3.30pm. The gentleman at reception gave us cakes and cold drinks.
We have been to this place two times before but every time we are amazed by the beauty, the service, the friendlyness of the owners, staff, the meals etc. It is a perfect place to relax in the sun and a good value for money.
The rooms are comfortable. The bar and pool also excellent. We were half board and every night we looked forward to the dinner, as the food was lovely and cooked to a very high standard. Lots of selection and very homey.
The hotel itself is brilliant, i dont have a bad word to say.Very enjoyable holiday. What more can I say?
We thoroughly enjoyed our all too brief stay and will be returning with friends in June next year.

This is 3rd time staying at Yildiz and what a change this year!! Still a family run hotel but not as good as before! We were hounded every night to eat at the hotel and starred at when we came back to the hotel! Rose is the only person we knew there and did a fantastic job as always but family were staying at la rosa and we were more valued there!! Gumbet is a fantastic place to go, we have been going for 5 years and know a lot of fantastic people there!! But I won't be going back to Yildiz next year!

we where late getting to hotel due to delayed flights on arrival we where asked to fill in forms regarding farthers name and occupation? Never known this before Was then shown to are room only to be told wrong room ,we where then taken to the basement passing old matresses, cots, cupboards was dark and lonley down there on opening door to room it was dark and dirty very basic nothing like photos they show, so we put are cases down and the staff leave not asking was room ok. No balcony just small window on openig dirty curtain are veiw was brick wall which covered half the window and what can only be described as a chicken farm with ducks, cocks, hens, dogs which where very noisey as you can imagine. To the right of the window was house where the familys children where playing out with the chickens and dogs. The wall which separated us from chicken farm was actually used as a pathway for the family so we where unable to have curtains open never mind the window if they wernt looking in it was to noisey. Are bathroom was desgusting the toilet was wrapped in cellotape and what can only be described as urine stains all over it shower was tiny if you where on the larger size you would not be able to fit in it im small but i could not even bend over to wash lower half of body GOD HELP YA IF U DROP THE SOAP . We where also told, plus they have signs everywhere NO FOOD OR DRINK TAKEN TO ROOM which is crazy as turkey is vert hot u need to be able to have at least a bottle of water in ur room. OF COURSE WE ASKED TO MOVE ROOMS but where told manager in at 12noon so we WAITED and WAITED and WAITED evantually the staff moved only because we went on . Only this room was even smaller with no electricity SO WE ASKED TO MOVE AGAIN only to be told tomorrow we ended up seeing the hotel rep at 17.00hrs this was sat afternoon and we'd been awake since fri morning so we where dead on are feet , the hotel rep agreeded with us room was unexceptable but she was told no room till tomorrow so we endede up paying £60 per person to be moved to another hotel which jumped the cost of are holiday up by £120 without taxi money PLEASE PLEASE DONT STAY HERE we where lucky to have had extra money to move other people we meet there never and they where stuck there. We meet back up with the guests that stayed there on are coach bk home who said it only got worse.

“Strongly recommended;like staying at a friend's house”

Myself and 5 of my friends stayed at the Yildiz Hotel in august. This hotel is perfect in so many ways. It has a beautiful view, a lovely pool, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The owners are truly charming, generous and attentive. This makes for a great atmosphere and it really felt like we were staying with friends, rather than in an hotel.
The breakfast is more than enough, with traditional fayre such as bread, cheese, tomato, olives, melon and with a different variation on egg everyday. The restaurant was wide and varied with great service. The evening always ended with a few beers by the bar.
So, back to the hotel and what can i say, except thank you and your wonderful family for making our vist to Turkey so memorable and........ see you next year!!

“Friendly, ok location near nightlife, a little pricey for the quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

The atmosphere of the hotel is friendly and resort-like and its exterior is nice. However, the rooms are run down and the air conditioning takes awhile to kick in. The location is good, although you cannot walk to Bodrum. It is walking distance to the Gumet beach and to the local restaurants in the area. It is a 10 min drive to the more touristy waterfront in Bodrum.
