“Absolutely fantastic holiday!”

I'm only 13 and I have been to this hotel 6 times. Out of the many holidays I have been on this is in the top 5.

The food is good but could be hotter. There is a very wide selection of food to choose from so even if you are a fussy eater there will be something for you. The a la carte restaurants are very nice.

The room has been brilliant. It is very clean and is always been cleaned by the cleaners once a day. The safe is a very good safe. Not any of my belongings have ever been stolen. When you are hot you can just turn the air conditioning on which is very cold! My balcony has had a spectacular view of the ocean.

The staff have always been friendly to me and my family. The bar staff are really funny. But sometimes you have to shout to get there attention. The main hairdresser in the hotel is called Orhan and he is really friendly. When he finished his shift he came and sat with us in the bar for about half an hour to an hour. He is the friendliest staff in the hotel.

The location is good. There is a bar across the road called Bronze bar and has football on. The owner of the bar is really friendly. Down the beach there is a karaoke bar which is really good if you want a laugh.

The pools are good. Cleans as could be. Sometimes can be cold but are warm(ish) most of the time. There is 2 pools. One is the relaxation pool and the other has entertainment/water sports on in the day.

The entertainment is very proffesional. The animation team are fantastic. a good amphitheatre has a lot of seating to watch the shows in.

Overall this hotel is very very good and I would recommend it to anyone who wants either a relaxation holiday or an action packed one. I am hoping to go back this year.

“Really enjoyable”

Stayed there at the end of September. Our first room was facing a brick wall but got it changed the following morning without any problem. There was a good selection of drinks in the bars and the food was fine. Went to 3 of the four a la carte restaurants and enjoyed them. My only complaint was it was difficult to get a seat at peak times at the main rooftop restaurant. It didnt help when several sections were reserved for certain guests. I found the staff very friendly, unlike the staff that were in my hotel in Marmaris in July. The location was excellent, right on the beach and within easy walking of the nearby shops and bars of Gumbet. I would certainly go back

“A UK 3*, not 5*”

Food from main restaurant was ok, lots of choice but all quite greasy and a plain 'diet menu'. All buffet, some great fish dishes. No seating!!! no way near enough seats for people during dinner especially - badly designed hotel.

Staff spoke little English and didn't help anyway near 5* standard, we had to collect our own cutlery for dinner usually!

We went at end of season in Oct, so most bars were closed, only 2 other restaurants open and the 'chinese' was terrible.. worst chinese food i've ever had, and I've been to China.

The rooms were of travel lodge quality really, nothing more than that. Free Wifi in reception was good.

The spa area was nice and i think what helps this hotel keep it's stars but the service most times was terrible, possibly due to end of season but still no excuse...

Location was good and the watersports nearby were fun, the beaches were tiny and poor quality gritty sand.

Gumbet itself is a slum, hence we renamed it 'Slumbet'. It's purely designed for tourists, no culture what so ever, just a small strip with bars, clubs and shops with men trying to sell you crappy fake merchandise every 2 seconds.

So overall, don't go unless you don't mind going to a Turkish slum. I've been to other places in Turkey which were 100% nicer.

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Travelled in September and had excellent weather, Was disappointed with our room as it faced a brick wall but were moved on the following day. Staff helpful and friendly, room clean as was everywhere. Food varied, but with a selection of different restaurants could always find something different. Access to beach from the hotel with their own sunbeds good. Lots of different facilities and entertainment. This was our second trip to Gumbet and would return to this hotel again.
