For us this was a very nice place to stay. All staff was very friendly, helpful and smiling. Hotel area was kept perfectly clean, pools and surrounding pool area were very clean and in perfect shape, everywhere there is beautiful trees and bushes - many of them full of flowers, our apartment was nice, clean and well equipped, room was cleaned more or less daily, the food from the hotel kitchen was excellent - both evening buffets and a la carte dishes and the bar serves nice cold beers, exotic drinks etc.
In the far end of the hotel area there is a nice little but well equipped supermarket run by a very pleasant guy – here you can also rent a car (which we sadly found out too late … after having rented one elsewhere).
Once a week the hotel arranges a “Turkish Night” – then tables are moved from the restaurant and placed around the pool, a barbecue buffet is prepared and after dinner various kinds of dancers will entertain you. This evening loud music was played for some hours but otherwise the hotel is very quiet and family friendly.
We saw another reviewer recommend a ground floor room, which can be very nice – but here is another recommendation (then you can choose what suits you best :-) : Get a first floor room with private balcony – this is a great place to spend some time … a little bit “away from it all” … with a cold beer after returning from the beach and before going out for dinner – and of course have your breakfast on the balcony as well (if you (like us) haven’t got hotel-breakfast included).
This hotel is placed in Bitez, and after having been a bit around both Bodrum and Gümbet, we were very glad that we had chosen to stay in Bitez, which we found to be the most quiet and laid back place of those mentioned.
The hotel is only two minutes away from the beach and all the restaurants and bars found along the beachfront. Easiest way to the beach is through the little supermarket and then through the reception area of Ambrosia Hotel (and they don’t mind you doing that!).
