“Beautiful and pleasant hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

For us this was a very nice place to stay. All staff was very friendly, helpful and smiling. Hotel area was kept perfectly clean, pools and surrounding pool area were very clean and in perfect shape, everywhere there is beautiful trees and bushes - many of them full of flowers, our apartment was nice, clean and well equipped, room was cleaned more or less daily, the food from the hotel kitchen was excellent - both evening buffets and a la carte dishes and the bar serves nice cold beers, exotic drinks etc.
In the far end of the hotel area there is a nice little but well equipped supermarket run by a very pleasant guy – here you can also rent a car (which we sadly found out too late … after having rented one elsewhere).
Once a week the hotel arranges a “Turkish Night” – then tables are moved from the restaurant and placed around the pool, a barbecue buffet is prepared and after dinner various kinds of dancers will entertain you. This evening loud music was played for some hours but otherwise the hotel is very quiet and family friendly.
We saw another reviewer recommend a ground floor room, which can be very nice – but here is another recommendation (then you can choose what suits you best :-) : Get a first floor room with private balcony – this is a great place to spend some time … a little bit “away from it all” … with a cold beer after returning from the beach and before going out for dinner – and of course have your breakfast on the balcony as well (if you (like us) haven’t got hotel-breakfast included).
This hotel is placed in Bitez, and after having been a bit around both Bodrum and Gümbet, we were very glad that we had chosen to stay in Bitez, which we found to be the most quiet and laid back place of those mentioned.
The hotel is only two minutes away from the beach and all the restaurants and bars found along the beachfront. Easiest way to the beach is through the little supermarket and then through the reception area of Ambrosia Hotel (and they don’t mind you doing that!).

“Very Nice Staff - in the bar and the cleaners!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

My family and I went to Tyrkey in July 2011. We loved the hotel and we would love to go back! The staff was very friendly, I, a 14 year old girl, got asked out a couple of times by the bar men which was a bit weird because I am A LOT younger than them. When you sit in the bar - of course if they have time - they come and talk to you, ask you where you come from, how it is there and such. In the first week we were there they played a lot of remix music and tyrkish music and I can tell ya - IT SOUNDS AWFUL! So I went up with about 600 songs of my own taste which is very wide with country, rock, pop, oldies etc. and they just copied them all and started playing. And they were pleased that they got that music ;) The pool is very nice and the room we stayed in was right next to it and that came in handy when we had gotten enough of the heat and sun we could go to the terrace just outside where there is a table, two chairs and shade. The cleaning came every day at 10 AM to 2 PM. Tuesdays og wednesdays the staff will come to you and invite you to Turksih Night where you eat from a buffet and there is staff dance and belly dance - of course the waiters will try and make you go with the belly dancer to dance with her. You can get cocktails both for children and grown ups.
One day, the cleaning lady had made a heart of towels on the bed and she had put leafs from a red and a pink rose around and she was so sweet! Men came and sweaped of the fallen leafs all the time! It was very very clean all the time.
I can totally recommend this hotel both because of the location - SO close to the beach and great restaurants. You can take a bus to Bodrum and there is a market with clothing on tuesdays and vegetables and fruits on fridays. Go to Bodrum on a day where it is NOT 40 degrees! And haggle where you can! Go to Tyrkey and live at the Paloma Bitez! ;)

Room Tip: Pick bottom rooms and close to the pool and the supermarket.

“Brilliant complex, would defo go back!”

After reading several bad reviews for the Paloma I was apprehensive about the holiday but as soon as we got there all my worries disappeared. The apartments were basic but very clean and had everything we needed. The staff were extremely helpful and were always on hand when we needed anything. The complex itself is very pretty with 2 fantastic pools. A 'friendly' place to go on holiday, we will definately consider going back.

“Lovely but 2 star not 3 star!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2010

If you go thinking it is really 3 star standard then you will be disappointed-in our opinion,as a family ,it was NOT 3 star. However, for the price we paid for our 1 week stay here,we were pleased overall. The pool area is super with really pretty surroundings-the flowers and trees really do make the hotel a great place to relax in.You can always get a sun lounger and our room was right by the pool (as are a lot of the rooms)making your day totally stress free if you are hanging around the pool for the day-the kids were so happy to be able to pop in and out of the room and grab a drink whenever they felt like it. The Staff in the Supermarket are really really friendly and helpful(especially Mujdat) who can`t do enough for you-to the point where they will blow up your seabeds , lilos etc... for you with their compressor anytime. It is handy to have the Supermarket literally on your doorstep should you need it , although it is overpriced and best avoided if you can get to a supermarket that charges real Turkish prices. The beach is soooo handy-literally a 2 minute walk from the bottom end of the hotel. We were NEVER disturbed at night by loud music etc.........it was ideal for us with having children. The location is ideal in this respect as it is away from the beach area which is where most of the entertainment happens.Cleaners came very single day and we never had to ask for clean towels etc...they were provided on a regular basis. The room/apartment is generally fine. Nice and spacious with plenty of wardrobe space and cutlery and dishes etc..we found to be very clean. It does need modernising though and we were told that they are going to refurbish all rooms this winter. The bathroom was fine but perhaps it would be an idea for the hotel to leave you some basic stuff such as toilet bleach etc ..for the bathroom to be the same standard as your own. They also need to think about providing towels or bath mats for the floor. It drove me insane that the bathroom floor was constantly wet and god knows how many times I had to wipe it down with my own towel (which I binned after the holiday!!) I did get a terrible rash all over my arm BUT cannot be sure wether this was prickly heat (it was 45 degrees every day)or an over zealous use of chlorine in the pool?? We met some lovely people in the hotel and they were convinced it was because of too much chlorine in the pool. If this is the case, then it is a shame as apart from that I can`t really complain about the pool area. The biggest disappointmet to me were the staff-Bar Staff in particular. Having previously lived in Turkey for 5 years, I was really surprised at their poor relationships with the guests. The bottom bar (by the supermarket) could be a real buzzing place but the barmen simply did not make any effort to talk with guests or connect-which, for Turkey, is a shocker as Turkish people are usually so warm and friendly. These guys couldn`t care less wether you were enjoying yourself or not-they literally served you a drink and that was that-no conversation at all.The Bar Manager was unbelievably arrogant and didn`t acknowledge me or my family once during the whole stay. The Bar Manager and his staff were very poor-they have a lot to learn about relationships with guestsetc......we very rarely had a drink at the bar because of this. But of course, if you are female, single and aged between 15-?? then I am sure you will find the bar staff very attentive!!:)

“disgusting how can guests be put in this filth!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2009

Do not stop here unless you enjoy filthy dirty accomodation, could not care less attitude from staff and management. The setting is very nice but the accomodaion is dreadful I cannot believe that tour operators sell this accomodation. We had no clean towels or bedding without complaining all the time, the cleaning was non-existant and when they did appear it was usually about 6 in the evening as you are getting ready to go out. The staff had a fantasic night life to themselves partying till 5 in the morning and then tryin 2 serve breakfast looking like death(hasten to add there were no guests at these parties we were all trying 2 get some sleep. The 2nd week loads of turkish students arrived for a conference ! mainly men who stood in the pool chatting most of the day very offputtin for my 14 yr old daughter and any other females.
Bitez itself is lovely and we have been back this year brill time and accomodation.
