we stayed a week iin middle of april this year and was very pleased with the hotel but not 5 star, good 3 star about right but holiday was very cheap so no complaiants on that side.our room was good with a stunning view over bodrum bay, very clean and cleaned every day.meals were very good plus snacks in late afternoon but you do get fed up eating all day.as this was early season you still had a struggle for sunbeds in the morning and drinks at night time,it would be worse in middle of summer when hotel was full.staff were nice and lynda the barmaid was fantastic, allways chatting with everyone and allways helpful,10/10 for her!overall would go back again if the price was right

Room Tip: get a seaview room, you wont be dissapointed

“Stunning setting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the diamond, firstly it is not a 5 star hotel, more like a 3 star, we had booked a seaview room which was large had stunning views and lots of storage space, the sun bathing areas around the pool were lovely and are set on different levels, there are the usual sun beds around the pool or huge matresses which were so comfortable makes you not want to move, and the views are stunning.
I found the food to be fine although we tended to eat out every other night otherwise i can see that it would become quite boring i liked the cold section and the salads, we refered to the hot food as "slop on a plate".
It was never a problem getting a drink, and the measures were good.
we loved Bodrum itself, and will return,i would stay at this hotel again if the price was right, and if i didnt have to use ONORAIR which i have to say has got to be the worse airline i have ever flown with.

Room Tip: A sea view room is a must,we asw some rooms that had no natural daylight, and some were like shoe box...

“2* hotel at best!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We arrived at the hotel at 2am, to be told that our sea view room which had been booked and paid for was unavailable due to an air conditioning fault. We were shown to another room, which was dark and very basic, with a window blocked with trees with no natural light, felt like we were sleeping in a coffin! the next morning, we demanded the sea view room that we had paid extra for, and were shown to an adequate room with stunning views of the bay. The rooms are basic travelodge rooms, nowhere near 5*.
The whole week we were there, non of the floors were cleaned in our room, the bath had to be cleaned out by us, the air conditioning only worked if you wanted hot air and the pillows were like resting your head on stone.

The food was always served luke warm, in a restaurant that was set out like a 1950's butlins camp, long rows of tables to seat approx 20. The choice of food was varied, but any hot food was generally unappetising in its appearance and fairly basic and nowhere near 5* food in any country. The salads were fine, but you can only eat so many salads during a weeks stay.

The outdoor pool was unheated and unusably freezing, although looked well maintained.

The staff with a couple of exceptions were disinterested in the guests. Many times while waiting at the bar to be served the staff were either absent or on mobile phones. The reception staff were particularly unhelpful about any issues raised.

Mini bar too overpriced, 3 euros per can of coke.
In general the hotel was reasonably well kept, although again nowhere near 5*

BEWARE OF THE LATE CHECKOUT OFFER
Our transfer to the airport was due at the hotel at 11pm we were due to checkout at midday, we asked about the late checkout offer which was advertised on the information sheet handed out by the hotel, with no mention of charges. We were offered our room until 6pm for 25 euros, up till midnight would be 90 euros. These charges were not mentioned in the hotel information, nor when we booked through a UK travel agency, the reception staff were totally unhelpful and very difficult to deal with.

Bodrum itself is set in a stunning bay, although tourist shops very overpriced. Bodrum is fine if you want a seaside resort holiday with lots of bars and restaurants.

Airport incredibly expensive and over crowded, women and children having to sit on floors due to inadequate seating and too many flights departing at one time, restaurants at airport unbelievably overpriced, can of coke 5 euros, doner kebab and chips with a can of coke, 27 euros, small bottle of water 2.5 euros. Eat well before you arrive at the airport!!! Wait until you board the plane before buying drinks.

The whole experience of the hotel and airport left me and my husband feeling as if we had been severely ripped off. We have stayed in 2* hotels in Sri Lanka with better food, service and facilities than this hotel and airport. Unfortunately, it will be a long time before we even contemplate returning to Turkey, and certainly never to this hotel.

Room Tip: Always demand a sea view room on arrival otherwise your room will lack any form of natural light!!

“Very Average - BE WARY OF ROOM ALLOCATION”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

My husband and I arrived at hotel late at night having booked a 'no balcony room' on the internet for a weeks r & r in October. We were greeted with a single occupancy size room with single wardrobe and no window at all and the accompanying sound of running water!! The bed was a king size, leaving little room to walk in the room and had a single size sheet on the bed only and a bed cover. I went to reception in early hours to advise that we were very cold due to insufficient bedding and to complain about noise of water. I was advised that they could do nothing until tomorrow and that they would send covers for the bed. I was also advised running water noise was because our room was in fact below the swimming pool and noises the mechanics of the pool. Bed covers were not sent so I had to ring again from the room. In the morning we complained to the guest relations lady who thought she was a little above the role and directed us once again to reception. My husband reminded her she was in fact 'guest relations' and she then arranged for us to change rooms. The new room had a window but high up and you could not see out of it but this room did have adequate bedding and no running water nose! TAKE CARE WITH ROOM ALLOCATION - NOT HAVING A BALCONY SHOULD NOT MEAN YOU END UP IN A BASEMENT SINGLE OCCUPANCY ROOM WITH NO WINDOW AT ALL AND RUNNING WATER NOISES!! Location and views of the bay were the best thing about the hotel which on the whole looked clean and pleasant. Food fresh but unappetizing and lacked variety even for a week's stay. Local drinks were of poor quality and the bars were not fully stocked. Staff were pleasant however. Hotel lacked good management and my husband and I feel that they should grade the rooms correctly so you are aware of what type of room you will be getting when booking.

Room Tip: Ask when you arrive if the room will have a window!!! Be wary of rooms allocated on the second floor...
