“somewhere to sleep!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

after a 14 night stay i can only say the hotel was a good base to a great holiday. we saw no cats drinking from any pool!! and we always found 4 sunbeds to use any time of the day had clean sheets and towels every other day and room cleaned. we had paid for half board but only eat there once. if you dont mind salad for breakfast and toast then your be ok, the evening meals were not inviting nad again the salad and pastas were the same every night. we didnt find the staff very friendly and the man who calls himself Captain was a little weird...on a good point it was right nextdoor to one of the friendly bars we have ever been to. CURLY'S there we have mad some good friends, thanks to them our stomachs didnt go hungry. If you book with the rep to the mud bath (dalyan) be warned he will tell you it is a 1 and half hour journey. WRONG it was 40mins from the hotel to join the coach them a further 3 hours from there...only to have any hour in the mud before its time to go for dinner them on to a beach!! we will go back to Bodrum as everyone there were sooo friendly and the area was a good location just never to stay in the Delfie. We did get talking to other couples who showed us photos of cockroaches in their rooms which they had moved 3 times. The hotel was ok to sleep in but not much else.

“excellent service and definately not as described”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

Having read the reviews on Trip Advisor we arrived with our children aged 4 and 7 expecting Fawlty Towers in the Blitz. What we found however was a hotel that is extremely inexpensive, good value for money and wonderfully child friendly. The room is basic (that i have to agree with) but unlike the photos the mattresses were brand new and the bathroom was mould free! When we asked for a fridge a new one (complete with labels and instructions) was supplied without anyone hesitation by the management.
The staff went out of their way for the whole stay to accomodate us and our children, the cleaner (who arrived daily with bedding and towels) even went as far as to put the childrens bears to bed.
It is basic, but it is also warm and friendly - so at just £20 per night for a family of four i believe it is excellent value. If you want the Ritz do not book to stay at the Delphi because you will be disappointed but if you want a clean safe environment that is close to the centre of Bodrum then i would reccommend it to anyone!
P.S we didnt see a single cockroache for the whole 14 nights!!!!!!!

“This is a Dump!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2010

Our family of 5 (2 parents & 3 teen-agers) left South Africa in June to come tour Turkey for four weeks. Due to the length of time spent in Turkey, we always tried to stay at good hotels and we certainly did not expect to stay in 5star hotel accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Turkey, bar one or two bad hotels, which our travel agent in Istanbul booked our behalf. The Delfi certainly set new standards during our visit. We arrived in Bodrum at the start of our third week in Turkey, after spending a wonderful few days at Istanbul, Kusadasi and Pamukkale. Tired and ready to unpack, we entered the Delfi Hotel reception and I immediately knew that here was trouble on the horizon. If the reception was any indication of what our stay would be like, this surely was not a good omen. I did not understand Turkish, but the staff at reception started debating among themselves what seemed to be about which rooms would be suitable for us. They then took us to rooms on the first floor of some part of the hotel. It was an absolute dump. The bedding seemed to be well past its sell-buy date. The beds even more so. The bathrooms were shocking. It was old, dirty and the space was really cramped. The ceilings were made of chip-board and were unpainted. The lights had no light-fittings. The TV against the wall was at least 10 years old. The only part of the hotel which kinda looked modestly descent was the pool. It must have been renovated fairly recently though. We refused to move into our rooms and they offered us other rooms. These rooms were actually no improvement at all on the first ones, except that they were on the ground floor. We phone our travel agent in Istanbul to inform them that we refused to stay at the Delfi Hotel and insisted that they change our accommodation......which they thankfully did! It boggles the mind that travel agents can risk booking their clients into accommodation which they either have no clue about or have not stayed there themselves. I therefore warn anyone risking to stay at the Delfi...... beware of this dump!

when my partner and i read the awful reviews we thought surely cant be that bad . the pictures and description all looked wonderful ,so the holidaymakers staying there must be the type to grumble at anything . well we owe you all a huge apology. the delphi is the PITS.our room looked nothing like the pictures .we had to have the light on during the day. the shower room disgusting and the toilet hadnt been cleaned properly for months.mould everywhere.only got fresh towels twice and had to put one towel on floor to stop bedroom flooding.now the food .......... if you like bread and jam you be fine, had one decent meal of chicken one evening. there no dining room . you eat outside on tables where the hotel cats sit n spray . the cats also live in and around the childrens play area. they use the kiddies pool to drink .cockroaches run across outside . other guests there same time as us all had very negative comments to say . and majority dined out rather than eat at the delphi.the staff took offence because i showed them to use serviettes to hold bread whilst slicing instead of bare hands.i could go on and on but hopefully you get this message. yes you do get what you pay for but cleanliness and courtesy should come naturally.so those of you that dismiss all this good luck .go to bitez beach as bodrum is so dirty and polluted

“Never again!!!!!!!!!!!”

Booked a one bed apartment, didn't get one. First room, yes a one bed apart but think a staff room, through a gate at the back of the apartments. second room, a bedroom with four beds infested with cockroaches. Third room, one big room with beds for seven people. It had a kitchen sink and a dirty fridge, and that is all it had. I complained yet again and got a kettle. The reception staff are so rude, one lady couldn't speak english and just glared at you, the young lad just laughed, thought all your problems were funny, and the only receptionist that could speak english had the lies and excused down to a fine art. (only the night porter was polite.) Apparently it has a reputation locally as been awful and you never get the rooms you pay for. Been to Bodrum 20 times or more, it's a fab place, just don't stay at the Delfi.
