I have stayed in Bodrum many many times and the surronding areas of Gumbet and Bitez too, so know the local standards, the owner Memhet is a greedy man and encourages staff to mislead customers, when I was there last they had some mad scheme whereby you bought tokens and exchanged them at the pool bar so no money was exchanged, a few lads there for a week did not hand their tokens in on time, so even though had paid up front for the overpriced drinks, (£10 for a large shot of Jack Daniels!) had a bar bill to pay too, their tokens were void according to the staff, ridiculous! my daughter went across to buy an icecream from the local shop and was told she could not eat it at the pool! Even though they did not sell these iccreams in the hotel, same with bottles of water, I pointed out I was staying self catering so was free to purchase what food and from where I wanted, but I did feel sorry for the staff asked to relay the messages. I have to say my room was clean, except for a problem with armies of ants, and on one occasion a massive cockroach scuttled in from the corridor outside the room! I also objected to knowing the kittens were taken away and destroyed, this area in Bodrum is over run by stray cats and one had given birth in the gardens, for days after staff removed the kittens, the mother cat could be heard crying day and night looking for her litter, that was sad and upset a lot of the children staying there. There are so many nicer places to stay, so dont pick the Delfi! For anyone picking Bodrum through a holiday company, bear in mind all the trip the reps try and sell you can be organised in town for so so much cheaper, in fact the rep boat trips are so overcrowded they border on unbearable. There is a cheap roadside cafe behind the Delfi that serves some of the cheapest and nicest food I ate in Turkey, all freshly cooked
