I won't repeat what has been said before about the stellar view, nice breakfast, etc. I won't take issue with flymeaway2's bed problem, other than to say we didn't share it - our bed was just fine. All in all, it's a great and well managed property and the view is definitely okay (see photo). It's also far enough away from the mosque that the 6am call from the muezzin isn't an issue, which is a major, major plus.
On the negative side (sort of, for some) the quiet is achieved by the hotel being high up above the port and off to one end. This didn't bother us and we walked down at least twice a day, but if you don't like walking up a flight of stairs, you're *not* going to like this location (yes, you could get a taxi for the short hop, but don't even think of driving your own car into the restaurant area).
What made our stay memorable was the help given by one of the Reception staff. Just after breakfast one morning we discovered that one of the guides employed by our tour company had accidentally taken a folder containing all our information on our flight to Istanbul and back home the following day. Accordingly we phoned the guide from our room to ask for the flight numbers. No answer. I came upstairs to ask someone at Reception to repeat the call for me, as the Turkish telephone system is different from ours and I wasn't sure what type of response I'd had. A fellow in Reception made the call for me and assured me that he'd had no answer either. I thought, alright, I'll call again after we've gone for a tour of the town.
Imagine my surprise when we came back later and were presented with faxed copies of our airline e-tickets - the fellow who had made the call initally had kept the number and the details of what we needed, tried again succesfully and gotten everything we needed. Instead of spending the remainder of the afternoon on the phone, worrying about our flight, we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves.
I am very impressed by behaviour like that; he is an example to any hotel person who wants to do the right thing.
