“Wonderful place with room for some improvement”

If you want to go to the Bodrum Peninsula but want to escape the crowds, this is the perfect place.Bodrum is abt 15 min away by car (there are also dolmus), but the bay is still fairly quite. There are a couple of hotels (Kempinski, Club Med) in the bay, but it is all a tame affair.

The hotel is very nice w spacious rooms. The interior is probably slightly Turkish design with more wood, but very tasteful. There is a wonderful big pool and breakfast on the terrace was very nice. The beach is across the street and very family style/low-key, no loud music played. There is an area reserved for guests which is essential just cordoned off from the rest of the beach. Water is clean, unlikely other areas around Bodrum.

Overall great location and nice hotel. On the negative side, staff seems pretty inexperience and mgmt seems only to have a fairly loose grip on them. We found the playing of loud music at the pool annoying (Sade is not supposed to be played at full volume!) but they turned it down on request, just to go through the same procedure the next day. Also the beach could have been tided up a bit. In the morning the sun longer were all a mess, dust bins still full, etc. Overall minor things as the place is actually really wonderful. With some restaurants around there is also choice for food. We never tried the hotel resto as the loud music put us off. I would ask for a room not to the pool/resto as it will be louder because of the staff's believe that loud music is the way to go.

Room Tip: no close to pool/resto as they play loud music

“Warm friendly and classy, a home away from home.”

This hotel is a hidden gem.. we stayed there as a couple with our 2 month old baby and it was the perfect place. Quiet and relaxed most of the time (see later), fantastic warm friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us and our baby, very classy clientele of Turkish families and couples, the odd european guests and an absence of the lower end european rowdy druken package tourist. The beach is 2 minutes walk from the rooms and the pool is quiet and relaxed. We really felt at home and struck up friendships with all the staff and many of the guests. In fact when we left tears were shed by all.
This is a small boutique hotel not a luxury resort.. but the warmth of the staff and the familiar homely feel, more than makes up the difference, at a fraction of the cost. We live in Dubai and are surrounded by luxury so we miss the authenticity of a small boutique hotel like Ipek Palace.. We visited the Kempinski down the road which is nice but cold and we concluded that were much happier where we are.. there are a couple of all inclusive 5 star resorts in the area, and we were definitely happy not to be staying there, we'd much rather be mingling with the local Turkish holiday makers than staying in an isolated fortress.
The only down side of the hotel is its proximity to a hotel across the road which caters to the type of tourists we prefer to avoid.. unfortunately the loud cheesy music disturbs the peace in the evenings, but thankfully it doesn't go on beyond 11.30pm
Having a car is recommended as the hotel is about 20minutes out of town.
We love Ipek Palace and the staff and management and hope to see them again in future visits

Room Tip: Get a suite, the hotel is relatively cheap for what it offers.

“A nice hotel with terrible management & demotivated staff”

Hotel management seems as if they focused on maximize their profit especially when you get standard breakfast ( worst one I have ever had in Bodrum area for more than a decade), keeping unprofessional staff with no smile on their face, fairly clean rooms & running very poor restaurant.

We will definitely never be there again!
It was a big mistake....

“a small hotel close to Bodrum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

It's a small hotel with many flowers and a very friendly staf. With a dolmus bus you are within half an hour in the centre of Bodrum. The beach is nearby; opposite the hotel (you just have to cross a street). On the beach are relax chairs reserves for guests of the hotel. The breakfast is typical turkish serves at your table. And if you like to have an egg extra; just ask. On a 5 minutes walk is a nice small restaurant alongside the beach (Hasan hotel and restaurant).

Room Tip: take a room above the standard (is quite small)
