Six of us stayed just one night at the Bircan and found it to be an excellent value for service received. The rooms are large and clean with good beds, TV, AC, and some refrigerators. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The pool was chilly but clean and nice on a hot afternoon in September. The hotel was about 1/2 full on our stay. Drinks were available at the pool. There did not appear to be a happening bar here, but there were two others on the same block with the Bircan. The service was extremely helpful with our special requests. We stayed in 3 rooms on the property, one overlooking the pool and all were about the same. Breakfast was served in the front patio area during our stay and was sufficient if not plentiful with coffee/tea, toast, jellies, hard egg, cheese, olives. The proprieter told us that he does not get alot of American tourists, and that the property is located near a military commissary club. Lots of the guests are Turkish military families spending time at the beach and pools and bar of the commissary club. The staff and other guests were all very friendly. We left our rental car keys at the front desk and they took care of the pick-up for us. Walking distance down to the marina on the end opposite the castle. Under our budget of 40EUR per night.
