“Avoid this hotel at all costs.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2009

We were placed in this hotel as the hotel we had actually booked was not available.

I have never stayed in such an inhospitable and petty hotel in my life.I travel a lot through Business.

The greatest shame is that this hotel could be so much better.....it has a nice pool etc.

Some of the things which we observed....

Staff sitting at the front of the hotel telling us we could not bring in water to our rooms (even though they provided fridges.....) and that we had to buy water from them (at 3 times the price in the shop next door). This "policy" was applied to non Turkish guests only.Turkish guests were allowed to bring in their own water (definition of racism???).

Coming into our room to remove things when we were not there.

Breakfast was poor, the same thing everyday. It was prepared what looked like the night before.

Overcharging a fellow customer for wine (3 times the price the wine should have been).

On checkout they tried to charge us for (1) breakfast (even thought it was included in our rate),(2) drinks we had already paid for, (3) overcharge us for air con.

I can only tell you what happened to us/what we saw and hopefully this will make you think twice about booking this dreadful hotel.

Stayed September 2009, travelled as a couple

“Could be so much better than it is!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2008

I was Memsey's holiday companion on this trip and have to say I agree with the comments made. We booked via an English travel company so naturally assumed there would be other English/British people in the hotel - wrong!! For the whole of our stay we were the only English speaking guests and didn't we know it. Most were Turkish guests and i do wonder if they were related to the owners - as Memsey said the pool bar was unmanned during our stay but this did not prevent other guests from helping themselves to drinks throughout the day and I didn't see any money changing hands or a note been taken so they could pay later??
Although we are both very friendly people, all our attempts to communicate or even exchange the basic pleasantries with either fellow guests or the staff were ignored, so in the end we stopped trying.
The hotel itself is clean and relatively modern (I believe it's not long been renovated) and is ideally situated for access to Bar Street, however, there is just no atmosphere. The lack of a manned bar (even for soft drinks) at any time and the absence of staff at most times of the day if you needed something is very disappointing. All notices round the hotel are in Turkish so unless you have a comprehensive understanding of the language you would not know what, if anything, you were doing right or wrong!! In fact, this may be why I was 'locked out' one night. Yes, I admit it was late (or early depending on how you look at it) at 04:30am, but I had met up with some friends and we had been talking over a drink - I shared a taxi back to the hotel with them to find the door locked and no-one about in reception, and after banging on the door and ringing the bell - it was almost 20mins later before someone scuttled up the stairs to let me in - so much for 24 hour reception!!

One more thing - you would have thought that as the only guests in the final week, our room would have been cleaned to within an inch of its life - no such luck , about once every three days if we were lucky throughout our stay - probably due to the fact the cleaner was too busy making ga ga eyes and frolicking with the chef.

This hotel needs to look closely at its staffing and if it wants take bookings from other countries to be prepared to cater for them - this could be a little cracker of a hotel if they get things right - as it is I wouldn't stay again

“Poor Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2008

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel & would definately NOT recommed it for British visitors. The staff spoke very little or no English & made no effort to make us feel welcome, infact very much the opposite, they were surly & made use feel very unwelcome. I have a basic grasp of the Turkish language & tried to converse with the staff with little response. I travelled with a female companion & we booked a twin room, but were given a double bed, when I requested a change I was informed it was a 'big bed' & we should share! we then had to wait a further 12 hours, until 16.45, for a room. We were threatened with the police within minutes of our arrival if we did not pay for the air con, which is advertised as free. We were also charged for the safety box rental, which again was advertised as free. They boast they have a pool bar & 'little rain' bar? The pool bar was closed throughout our entire stay & we have yet to find the 'little rain' bar. During our last week, we were the only 2 guests at the hotel, resulting in an extremly limited pre-plated breakfast, with the fruit juice & watermelon being removed from the selection. The only saving feature of this hotel is the close proximity to bar street.
