“A sophisticated location..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

This hotel is very nice, full of sophisticated details, perhaps a little old-fashioned but certainly effective. The staff is very collaborative, rooms and facilities are clean and large. There are large marble staircases, damask drapes, dark wood furniture, but the overall effect is airy and bright. The rooms have windows and balconies, fully functional air conditioning, the bathroom has shower and water massage. In conclusion, I recommend this hotel but unfortunately surroundings are quite poor in tourist attractions and after dinner it isn't worth going out for a walk in that area. Despites, free access Internet connection in the lobby as well as private access in your room and diversified international menu at the restaurant.

stayed there only one night. Nice historical hotel. very nice staff. friendly but the room is extremely small. if you are claustrophobic, you should definitely not stay there. If not, yuou will be one when you leave.

“Best hotel of my trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2009

people found this review helpful

Nice room, carpet needed cleaning, but furniture reminded me of a classic hotel. Balcony overlooked Ataturk Memorial. Bath well stocked, room clean otherwise. Breakfast unusual-signs said Sausage but contained fries, egg with meat was really a cheese danish, and egg with cheese was french toast. TV hard to operate.

Subway was just down the street, so transport is easy. A Migros grocery a few blocks away. Many good places to eat nearby.

  • Liked — Felt like staying at a old classic
  • Disliked — elevators are small

“Pretty rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2008

people found this review helpful

When I walked into my single room, I was really pleased. The bed, unlike some of those I encountered during my trip, was double bed size. The room was reasonably large and decorated nicely in red. This hotel is in a central location near Ataturk's mausoleum. While in Ankara the mausoleum and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations should not be missed. The independent traveler should also consider a visit to the Hittite sites not far from Ankara. Restaurants are nearby this hotel.

“Good rooms, but not good overall”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2007

The rooms here are stylishly appointed, with quality furnishings, and the hotel is reasonably quiet, despite the presence of large tour groups. However, the restaurant is poor, with comically overpriced drinks (four pounds sterling for a small beer would be heavy anywhere), and the location is not particularly convenient except for business travellers. The atmosphere is pretty flat, and service seemed inept.
