“Perfect experience for any kind of stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2010

Experience is perfect regarding the price. I've stayed there one weekend. Located in a quiet street, but just next to the most lively street in Ankara. Rooms are great and the people at the hotel are really kind and very helpful.

Rooms are spacey with free bottled water and hot drinks. Mini bar is not very expensive. Internet access is free. I worked many hours in my room in the desk without problem. Breakfast was good overall. (just no fresh black coffee - just instant everywhere, so I suggest trying Turkish Coffee to the foreigners).

It is also close to the charming parks of Ankara such as Kugulu Park. If you want to travel by metro, you have to walk to the Kizilay (20 min) or take a taxi. In Tunali street (lively one), you may find all the global fast food brands, but I suggest again trying local tastes in crossing streets. Just ask someone.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2009

The hotel is located in a quiet street parallel to the main road. So it is close to all the establishments such as restaurants, cafes and a supermarket. The rooms were very well designed and the bathroom is very 'different' (in a good way). Mind you, they have a pillow menu! Breakfast is delicious and very fresh. Staff spoke english and were accommodating even to our 2 year old boy. They even arranged for our bus ride to Cappadocia . Hotel price is a little bit high but it was worth it after all the positive vibes we had.

“Great Location for shopping, fast food and Starbucks in the city center.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2009

Loved the hotel and the people that work there are very nice. Usually someone at the front desk spoke english or they would find a member of the staff that could.

I have never seen a hotel room with a window between the bed and bathroom so you can watch TV or who/whatever in the bedroom. The constantly changing colored light above the shower really topped it off and looks really cool at night.

I like what they offered for breakfast even though it was mostly traditionaly Turkish I think,
I really liked the honeycomb dripping with fresh honey, hardboiled eggs and pastries. They also have an assortment of fruits, cheeses and veggies.

The only drawbacks were the not-so-cool AC, the rush hour traffic and the Wi-Fi was hit and miss. Sometimes it worked great and other times, nothing. They were changing over to a new system, that may have had something to do with it.

“Loved the bathroom”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2009

I have just returned from almost 2 weeks at the Houston. The hotel is magnificent and thats why, I have always stayed there.

It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel to go to the work and eat outside.

The breakfast is a lovely continental spread with cheeses fruit pastries etc.

The gym is perfect and for a change, I visited it every morning for atleast half an hour.

I paid 90 Euro per night and that too for big king size beds.

Overall, this is the best place to stay at economical manner while in Ankara.

“Convenient but a bit run down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2007

The location is quite convenient, the street is very quiet but near nice shops and restaurants. The room is quite bit for a standard double, but a bit run down, eg. the fridge doesn't work so well; the bathroom isn't as clean as in other Turkish hotels; the airconditioning isn't really very good, it lets off an odd smell Breakfast is good and the staff do their job eficiently.
