“Good Standard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

Hotel Aldino is a very good standard hotel for travelers, it has a friendly staff and the rooms are well equipped, only negative thing was that the connection door to the other room did not reduce much of neighbour's noisy TV. But anyway I sleep with earplugs. The breakfast is nice, only the cafe (Nescafe Machine) could be better. The best thing is the location of the hotel, the street is not noisy, but it is close to a nice shopping street and some good restaurants and bars. The air is better than in downtown, because the hotel is already on a higher altitude. It is a good standard hotel with fair prices.

“VERY GOOD VALUE HOTEL AT CENTRAL ANKARA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2009

I stayed at Aldino whilst attending a conference at Ankara. The hotel was overall very good. Rooms are fairly spacious and newly renovated (do not get carried away by the hotel's website which is outdated!- rooms look far better) with air con, tv, closet, safety box, mirror, desk and a small table. Bathroom is spacious with bath tub and hair dryer. Rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed. As far as I am concerned, there was no balcony in the rooms. Breakfast was very good range and good quality. Staff was very friendly. There is free wireless throughout the building and a desktop with printing facilities at the lounge. There were series of other facilities such as 24 hrs bar, laundry/ ironing services etc (I dont know them all cause i did not use them). The hotel is at a good and central area of Ankara very close to shops and some monuments. although I did not pay for the hotel, the prices that I have checked are very good for a hotel of that kind which is not 4 stars as it claims but still is a very good and pleasant place to stay in Ankara.

“Ankara and the Aldino - hmmm ....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2006

I don't want to be mean about the Aldino - it's hard to put my finger on why staying for a week in this hotel was so demoralising, and I suspect it may be the experience of staying for a week in Ankara, and not the hotel's fault in particular.

The Aldino: seems set up for business travellers. Middle sized rooms done up in pink, so you feel like you've been ingested. My air con was a bit feeble, and the noise from the street meant you needed the very effective double-glazed windows shut at night, which made for a hot night. Breakfast food was at best moderate, but Turkish breakfasts are a little odd to those not used to them - and you have to get to like your food accompanied by last night's tobacco smoke. The shower in the room was feeble, but the shower attachment to the bath was great! Sheets etc seemed to be changed every day, and the location of the hotel off the main shopping street is good.

Ankara itself is not an exciting city - and I'm not sure why you'd be there as a tourist. There looked to be a few interesting hotels opening up in the Citadel, further north in the City, and if you are in town for tourism, they might be a better bet. As for the Aldino, I've stayed in worse, and it was basically clean, with nice staff, and the room wasn't appalliing, but by the end of my week's stay I was prepared to do anything to get away.
