I don't want to be mean about the Aldino - it's hard to put my finger on why staying for a week in this hotel was so demoralising, and I suspect it may be the experience of staying for a week in Ankara, and not the hotel's fault in particular.
The Aldino: seems set up for business travellers. Middle sized rooms done up in pink, so you feel like you've been ingested. My air con was a bit feeble, and the noise from the street meant you needed the very effective double-glazed windows shut at night, which made for a hot night. Breakfast food was at best moderate, but Turkish breakfasts are a little odd to those not used to them - and you have to get to like your food accompanied by last night's tobacco smoke. The shower in the room was feeble, but the shower attachment to the bath was great! Sheets etc seemed to be changed every day, and the location of the hotel off the main shopping street is good.
Ankara itself is not an exciting city - and I'm not sure why you'd be there as a tourist. There looked to be a few interesting hotels opening up in the Citadel, further north in the City, and if you are in town for tourism, they might be a better bet. As for the Aldino, I've stayed in worse, and it was basically clean, with nice staff, and the room wasn't appalliing, but by the end of my week's stay I was prepared to do anything to get away.
