The Crowne Plaza is a pleasant hotel, nicely decorated, but not so well kept up in spots.
The bathtub could cause very bad accidents: There is a rigid glass splash guard panel instead of a shower curtain, and the panel comes about half the way along the tub. It is impossible to reach the water valves when you are standing outside of the tub, so you have to get in the tub to turn the water on and to direct the water to the upper shower. Brrrr! But that's not the real problem. The real problem is that the tub is extremely slippery, and the plastic non-slip mat they supply is even slipperier! Do be very careful getting in and out.
The standard breakfast is extremely nice; the menu in "Prime", the main restaurant is a bit limited (for dinner) to Western European eyes, but do remember you're in Turkey, not Italy. However, it would be nice if the chef held back on the salt and didn't over cook the meats.
As I indicated maintenance here and there is slipping. A lightbulb in my room burned out, and went 4 days without being replaced. There's a lot of patching around edges of windows, bathtubs etc. The public areas are very good, however.
I was at the hotel on one of the coldest days on record, ever, in Ankara. The heating kept pace very nicely, but the thermostat was not very predictable. Took a lot of button pushing and fiddling to be comfortable.
Finally, the staff was all helpful and friendly to the extent they could be. But that extent was limited by generally very poor English language skills, even on the front desk and even at check-in time. The most English-fluent desk manager I ran into was on duty at 4:00 AM when I had to catch a cab to an early flight.
It is an enormous convenience to have a huge and modern mall adjacent to the hotel, and to be only about 100 metres across a parking lot from the Metro station!
The Internet connection is flakey. Don't know if it was just because I used a Mac, but I doubt it. More likely a mis-set server in the hotel. I don't know about value as my room was direct billed to the people who brought me to Ankara.
The hotel is a long way from anything you would want to go to except the Anka Mall next door.
