“Still worth of money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2011

I have stayed this hotel already 20 times and always returning back reason great location and good value of money. If traffic is not heavy trip from the Naia international airport takes only 20 minutes. Front desk service has improved a lot during past 5 years maybe reason i am frequent customer already? Rooms are still ok and clean , aircons sometimes bit noisy as far rooms located to Mabini street side too. Security in the hotel is good but outside better to be extra careful, avoid accompany you dont know so well.

Tip. When checking out of hotel better leave luggages to the door man and walk short distance,.take a taxi with meter and stop by hotel picking up bags, you might be lucky and find yourself back to the airport without scamming and double price taxi fee 500 pesos.

“Give it a miss...better available”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2011

I've stayed here a lot but found better hotels in the area.

This place is in a great location - in the centre of Malate. It's near to everything you want from Malate and right around the corner from Robinson's Mall.

The main problem with this place is the Staff. From the moment you arrive they try their best to make you feel unwelcome. Rude service. Unfriendly. Unhelpful. I've got no idea how they manage to keep their jobs, I'm not the first one to say this.

cost is P2500 a night and for that you get a room. Rooms are dark, old and usually have a window facing the wall next door. No breakfast included (just as well as the food isn't great there). Wireless internet is available but you'll have to mortgage your house in order to pay for it. Pop across the road and use the internet cafe instead.

On the upside - it's central, clean and safe. And, that's about it really.

Let me know if they change the staff and I'll give it another go but, until then, it's the Best Western for me.

“Hotel badly let down by staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2011

The location is good in the sense that the hotel is near lots of restaurants and shops. The same can be said for other hotels in the area. Also, hotels near Mall of Asia and Glorietta have the same advantages. In fact, Mall of Asia has more and better restaurants and shops than Robinsons. The hotel is closer to most attractions that hotels near Glorietta or Mall of Asia but those attractions are overrated. The room had a generous amount of space and quite good lighting. We were on the eleventh floor but could still hear noise from the street, although it was tolerable from high up. The room was clean except for the floors that were always filthy. There was generous packing space in the cupboards. The staff were generally very polite but not always helpful at the front desk. When we asked where the LRT was, no one seemed to want to tell us as they were more interested in getting us to use the hotel's taxi. Also, they would not let us charge one fruit shake and one soda water to our room as this had apparently not been arranged in advance. It seems one needs to go through some kind of credit check. We had to pay cash upfront. We did not like being treated like criminals. The irony is that the hotel stole money from us. We were charged more than $15 for international phone calls we did not make because “the machine” said we had made them. This is the same “machine” that would not let us or the hotel’s operator make phone calls. All the operator could offer as an explanation when not even they could make phone calls was “there is a problem”. When we checked out, the hotel sent the taxi to the wrong airport terminal and we had to pay another taxi to take us to the right terminal.

“Excellent Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

This is not a fancy hotel. You don't get a huge Vegas lobby, large pillars, or vast amenities. What you do receive, however, is excellent and responsive service, a clean large room, and a safe premises. Yes, outside the doors of the Hotel you get the "streets of Manila" and its difficulties, but aren't most, if not all of the hotels in a similar situation? There is a 7-11 immediately next door, and a legitimate massage establishment close by. My Host knew exactly where to get "good eats" so I can't say much about that topic. The Robinson Shopping Mall is very close and has a multitude of eateries.

These Hotel must have push there security stronger, because its the rule of any hotel 20 meters away from the Hotel, the securities outside must control if there guests are safe with the strangers talkinh to them, A friend was threatened just lastnight infront of this Hotel and was robbed so lucky that theyy were not hurt, but the fact is it is the Hotels responsibility for thier guests!!!!
