Stayed there two nights January 2012.
The trash containers were in the corridors 24 hours and the sacks of dirty laundry also.
The staff was not serviceminded. They were stressed and not friendly.
The pool was nothing, not possible to use, a construction site, no compensation, ni excuses för this. Breakfast was very thin, not much nice or well done to eat, very very basic.
Telephones by lobby staff were answered in the middle of speaking to us, changing focus on who to service, very suprising.
Staff whatching the outer maindoors were not at all interested, tired and not observant to the guests.
This is NOT AT ALL A FOUR STAR HOTEL, more a 2+ living and VERY OVERPRICED, there are lots of nicer and better accomodations, i e better standard and better service and a nice breakfast (not this simple low cost food).
My wife and I can not recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice and relaxing stay!

We were first charged extra for something very simple to go with the room, but after a long conversation with staff and staff manager, she changed her mind and had this given to us for free. This took us a lot of arguing and was very disturbing. Bad service!
The renovation has not been 100% made yet, there are still areas to be done, example pool area, NOT possible to use beginning January 2012 and when done, don´t expect to take a good swim, this pool is for playing around, very small and no contact with the sun, high walls around the small poolarea!

First the good; the location, linens are clean and comfortable. Now the bad; Internet on and off every 10 mins. If you turn in laundry and ask for it to be on hangers, they do not wash the clothes, they press them dirty. Room service; when I asked to add a specific item to a meal, they could not understand that i wanted an additional item. After 10 mins on the phone trying to explain to add something, still their answer was, "that item belongs on another meal"..i gave up. Toilet leaked water, sink sprayed water, tub leaked water, mold and mildew growing on the ceiling where A/C is. It looked like a sponge growing. Carpet dirty, and heavy musty smell from A/C unit. The room service ignores phone calls 30 mins prior to to closing so they don't have to prepare food. The night staff are patronizing and insulting. Complaint were not addressed and handed off to the lowest person on staff.

Reception was efficient and friendly, the room spacious and well -equipped (soap, lotion, bubble foam, hair dryer, safe) and this time I had a view over Manila Bay. Only 1 armchair and not enough clothes hangers Water and coffee/tea making facilities. Comfortable double bed and modern decor.Breakfast limited but I got scrambled egg and bacon almost every day. Capacity was limited and sometiemes there were queues waiting for getting a table.
Location at the end of Roxas Boulevard is ideal and easy access to Mall of Asia (150pp in taxi), airport (300pp) and walking distance to Rizal Park and Marina and to Robinson's.
Some problems at night with teams of young kids trying to rob you in Mabini Street and people living on the street but if you're careful you can walk about without real difficulties. Security at the hotel is unpleasant if you have a companion as they try to make you pay 800pp even if though you have paid for double occupancy (register your companion free at reception!)

Great location - by Rizal Pk where U can absorb Pinoy folk culture w/end evenings - and at other locations; short walk to affordable Intramuros golf course.
Ample victuals, bathroom hospitality and service.

The staff are hugely congenial and facilitating (I fell in love with several of the lasses) and if this wasn't such a religious country I might have been a bit cheeky, despite press coverage of the French IMF diplomat and the chambermaid!

One big drawback is lack of reception area for residents and guests. At times the only viable seating was in the cafe/coffee bar and U may not wish to purchase typically expensive coffee.
Such a contrast with Banaue Hotel which has the hugest, most magnificent reception and dining rooms
