This is the eighth time I have stayed in this hotel over the past five years, and I have been amazed from the first time, which was in July 2007, till today with the level of service from the door man who opens the door at the entrance to every single staff you encounter during your stay. The service levels I experience here are truly exceptional and a great credit has to go to the management for maintaining this very high level of service day after day... 

Apart from the service, the rooms are fabulous with everything you need for a great business traveller. The rooms are very spacious with a large dedicated worktop area, very spacious bathroom and the rest as what you would expect from any top five star property. The hotel has a small but a very cosy pool, gym and a jacuzzi and the selection of breakfast, in room dining menu etc are excellent and offer great variety, I really can't fault this hotel for the discerning business traveller. They have the legendary butler plus service, essentially a butler would be at your doorsteps to resolve any issue you have, trust me these guys really deliver on this lofty promise, they have never let me down till date.

This is a typical business hotel and I would not recommend this for leisure travelers, however if you are looking for a top end business travel hotel in manilla, look no further, as you will truly be wowed.

I was a solo male traveller, and if I had been travelling for bars and girls, this hotel would have been perfect...but I wasn't so it wasn't...

PROS first....great hotel. great rooms. great service. great food. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel or its standards...an oasis roof pool; a well stocked gym; a penthouse restaurant...it had everything.....my room was fantastic with tv in the tub...separate shower, study, dining room, and large bedroom...but views are limited to the bay....

CONS....it sits in an area which is bearable on the front doors...but rapidly deteriorates within 100 yards. Girls selling themselves; kids trying to pick your pockets; shemales approaching you; and assorted others trying to sell you drugs or sex drugs...I felt VERY uncomfortable, and I was advised to not walk on the roads behind the hotel under any circumstances...

I ended up taking cabs to get to the Greenbelt and SM malls ...where you felt comfortable and safe....

I say again that if I had not been a single man, it may have been much less uncomfortable, but that was my experience...

Absolute shame because I loved the hotel, but if I were returning, I would be booking at Makati or further afield to avoid this area of Malate

Pan Pacific is a Chinese outfit and is not a bad hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Rooms are clean and comfortable but bathrooms are a bit dated and could use a facelift. The staff are very helpful and the general service is excellent. Breakfast is good enough, with a wide selection for both Asian and European guests. The hotel is in the red-light district of Malate and you will get a lot of hookers, drug dealers and Viagra peddlers fronting you every time you step out of the hotel. Despite this Malate is actually quite safe and clean compared to most parts of Manila. A big plus is Robinson’s Mall literally 2 minutes’ walk away, where you can find a wide variety of food and supplies. Also the Cuban place down the street serves great tapas. Manila is a very poor city, and for the vast majority of its inhabitants every day is a struggle to stay alive, so take care when moving around. Hunger and disease are rife and people are understandably desperate and may see you as their next meal ticket. If you have any doubts then stay in the sanitized western enclave of Makati. There, the poor are kept out by heavily armed guards owned by the corporations.

Great service. Clean and very comfortable rooms. Nice little pool. The neighborhood is a bit mixed with tons of Korean, Asian restaurants and also a lot of KTV and Grilie bars.....So it's not exactly a family-friendly neighborhood at night...

I stayed 2 nights and everything was really good.
