“stay away from this hotel”

We stayed there for one night only waiting for our flight. First we were shown a groundfloor room which had an awful smell. We accepted the first floor room instead, which was a bit better, but you could not get rid of the feeling that it was very dirty and that you might see some unpleasant bugs inside. For one night we did not want to make any problems, so we stayed there, but this was actualy one of the worst accommodations we have ever tried. At the end there were not any bugs, only geckos, indian food in the restaurant was freshly made (live cooking) and extremely tasteful. But rooms were definitely dirty, old, tired. Location is on the hill and you have to walk about 15 minutes to the first shop, so even the location is not an advantage.

Better to choose another hotel when waiting for the flight, accommodation is realy out of any comment.

Staff was kind, Indian food was very tasteful, but we decided to eat there only because of live cooking. We would never dare to eat there if they would prepare the food in some kitchen, where you could not see what they were doing and how possibly dirty it could be.

“Do not go there”

Stayed at this hotel for one night, since my EMIRATES flight to go back was early in the morning and we needed an accommodation close to the airport.
I booked and payed 2 super deluxe room (we are 4 and they do not have room for 4 people) and I got one super deluxe and one normal. The super de luxe had see view, but nothing else was luxurious. The second room was smaller, and with a very disgusting smeel. I decided to sleep alone in this room and leave my wife and kids in the orther one. I do not even know how to describe the room, but I was never in a crap hotel like this in my life and please consider that I am travelling for business almost every week. You can accept compromises like in my situation, after all we needed only a bed. But this was a tremendous surprise. The pictures in the web site are not reflecting the reality and they are cheating. Food was bad, breakfast even worse. I would prefer to spend more money but to find something more comfortable especially at the end of a wonderful holiday. Stay away from this place. It is very sad.

“Very nice time”

My wife and I spent two nights at the Le Relax before our sail tour on the Sea Star. Le Relax is a great place explore Mahe and also enjoy the super beach at Anse Royal. The hotel is simple, but very charming. The greatest point, is the excellent dinners... best Indian food I have had in a long time. If you are looking for a short stay, where you can explore the island.. Le Relax is it.

“excellent food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

We stayed here just 1 night at the end of our holiday in The Seychelles. The room was clean with a huge bathroom with shower. The room also had a fridge which was nice. Following other reviews we had Indian food in the restaurant which was excellent and good value. The hotel is small and was hosting a communion party or similar and so the restaurant was taken over with this and it was very noisy, so if you expect peaceful surroundings check if there are events on before you book. The restaurant was right beside the pool so it wasn't relaxing lying at the pool when this party was on all afternoon and all evening. Hotel was good though and good value.

“Affordable professionally run establishment - A+”

Returned for an extended stay this year incorporating Le Relax on Praslin also
for a few days (the La Digue Island Lodge was not yet complete). We were able to book both together and could have left suitcases if we so desired when we departed for Praslin & La Digue.

The pool facilities were excellent - one could go a for dip at any time of choosing up to 10:00pm - this was a major consideration over self-catering facilities available on the island - especially with young kids in tow.

Food was very good - breakfast was a very pleasant affair - making a change from the self-service scramble at some of the larger hotels (e.g. Berjaya).

We are partial to Indian cuisine (hence one of the reasons for staying here) and this did not disappoint. IMHO it is the best the island has to offer - surpassing Mahek in the Coral Strand on Beau Vallon (which actually was a bit of a disappointment when we last dined there about two years ago - more West Indian style curry than Indian). Was a welcome change from the Creole food although it does also do Creole food - just that we didn't sample so can't comment on this.

The local Seybrew beer cost 37SCR (compared to 80SCR at Ephelia for example) so quite reasonable when compared to the shop prices (20SCR).

Seems to be a quite popular area and quite busy beach at this time of the year. It did not have the roughness and seaweed of Anse Royale nearby. On our holiday a German couple stayed her and got married on the beach (Fairyland) and it looked like a big success.

Laundry service was efficient. Internet service available via 100SCR per hour C&W card. Car hire (via the Le Recif sister compmany) was extremely competitive versus local competition - although our Hyundai Getz could have done with the air conditioner being regassed.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say and the hotel had nearly full occupancy throughout the duration of our stay.

We would come again as long as it continues to offer value for money in the 3 star "affordable" category.
