“Solid Hotel - Convenient To Sentral Station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The Hilton Kuala Lumpur is located 50 meters from the KL Sentral Station and what is essentially the same complex as the KL Le Meridien hotel.

Getting here: The best way to get to the Hilton KL is via the “KLIA” non-stop train from the airport for 35 Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) or approximately USD $12. The train takes 28 minutes, and leaves every 15 to 20 minutes from the Airport, or return via Sentral Station. It is extremely convenient and I highly recommend it. For those of you who wish for a taxi it should be approximately 80 MYR one way.

The Hilton is located in what is essentially the same structure as the Le Meridien hotel. As you come up the elevator from the train station, you can go right into the Le Meridien lobby or take the left hand corridor and enter the Hilton. I must say, I don’t recall ever staying in a Hotel where it is physically as close to a competitive hotel, and I did stay in both hotels.

Clean, bright rooms with a nice bathroom the hotel in my opinion, was slightly better than the Le Meridien in the quality of the room. Some of this is due to the color scheme, which was brighter and more neutral than the Le Meridien. The bathroom could be open to the rest of the room which gives the appearance of space.

The executive lounge is located on the 33rd floor and is respectable. The lounge has a fairly broad selection of breakfast and evening snacks supported by drinks available throughout the day. There are enough tables and space available to work and have small meetings so it is quite functional.

Overall, given my rate of USD ~$100 per night at this price point this becomes a great value. If you have meetings at this hotel or nearby, it can be a great option…but it is not within walking distance of anything other than the train station.

“Everything is great except not professional service”

We stayed here for few days....
Everything was nice and clean

The Internet wireless didn't provide in our room only LAN provided! Which is kind of low technology in anywhere else!!!

How could I connect LAN to my iPad, or my mobile devices?!?

I need wireless Internet connection which only provide at lobby and executive room but have to purchase separately?!?

At the first day in our room.... We didn't get free water!!! And first day in KL...just arrived didn't know where to go....so I had to drink mineral water which charge us about 15RM

At sinning room they allow people to smoke!!! Which for non-smoker
I think it's terrible!!!

Also some staff not very friendly and helpful...only some!!!

But other things were ok
Breakfast was terrific...
Room quite ok....
The executive room was terrific

“Perfect for Business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Exit the Airport, 28 minutes on the direct, non stop, train and you arrive straight outside the hotel, fastest arrival in Asia probably.
Check in easy, Exec Lounge, large and professional, choice of bars and restaurants excellent.
The bedroom is the usual large, clean Hilton standard, everything works and the wireless is pretty fast.
will definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Go for the high Exec floors

“10/10”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

The KL Hilton is easily one of the finest hotels we have had the pleasure of visiting. It's located perfectly for Sentral Train Station so any commuting from KLIA if painless, the hotel is more or less on top of the station.

Check In was efficient, the upgrade was most welcome and the view to the south of KL was magnificent (especially for the late afternoon thunder and lightning storms!!). There are some fine on site bars and venues with regular live music of a very high standard, a sublime jazz trio in the reception area (Wave I believe they were called) and a larger outfit (Exposure?) in the trendier bar on one of the upper floors. We would be very big music fans and neither act would be out of place on the Vegas strip or in Memphis on Beale (yes we were that impressed).

The hotel has a very nice pool area which should definitely be enjoyed if the sun is shining and breakfast is a wonderful and vibrant affair with cuisines from all over the world (still cannot understand the 'Curry for Breakfast' thing but I am a Westerner I guess).

Not a fault I could find with the Hilton KL, it would be my first port of call should we ever return to this city. If you are considering this versus the Doubletree across the city then my advice would be choose the Hilton, without a doubt.

10/10
