The Hilton Kuala Lumpur is located 50 meters from the KL Sentral Station and what is essentially the same complex as the KL Le Meridien hotel.
Getting here: The best way to get to the Hilton KL is via the “KLIA” non-stop train from the airport for 35 Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) or approximately USD $12. The train takes 28 minutes, and leaves every 15 to 20 minutes from the Airport, or return via Sentral Station. It is extremely convenient and I highly recommend it. For those of you who wish for a taxi it should be approximately 80 MYR one way.
The Hilton is located in what is essentially the same structure as the Le Meridien hotel. As you come up the elevator from the train station, you can go right into the Le Meridien lobby or take the left hand corridor and enter the Hilton. I must say, I don’t recall ever staying in a Hotel where it is physically as close to a competitive hotel, and I did stay in both hotels.
Clean, bright rooms with a nice bathroom the hotel in my opinion, was slightly better than the Le Meridien in the quality of the room. Some of this is due to the color scheme, which was brighter and more neutral than the Le Meridien. The bathroom could be open to the rest of the room which gives the appearance of space.
The executive lounge is located on the 33rd floor and is respectable. The lounge has a fairly broad selection of breakfast and evening snacks supported by drinks available throughout the day. There are enough tables and space available to work and have small meetings so it is quite functional.
Overall, given my rate of USD ~$100 per night at this price point this becomes a great value. If you have meetings at this hotel or nearby, it can be a great option…but it is not within walking distance of anything other than the train station.
