This hotel worked out to be perfect for us, a family of 4 including a 12 and 9 yr old visiting KL for the 1st time. I booked a family suite package for a week direct with the hotel and was pleased to find we were given 2 large inter-connecting non-smoking rooms with a massive balcony facing the Petronas towers. The rooms were clean although somewhat dated, with wear and tear. The toilet in 1 bathroom had obviously cracked away from the wall at some stage and had been reattached a bit sideways!
We had full tea and coffee facilities in both rooms and a bottle of water each every day. The hairdryers were ok, I never had to use my own from home. We also had an iron, ironing board, robes and slippers. We all found the beds very firm but we got used to them!
Breakfast consisted of a buffet of usual items and interestingly lamb or beef rendang every day, rice, noodles, spring rolls or curry puffs and on some days spaghetti bolognese and chicken nuggets! We didn't find the evening buffet good for value or choice even with a 50% discount for hotel guests! There are 2 other restaurants, a Chinese and a Japanese. We tried the Japanese, which had a lovely atmosphere with individual rooms in a mock village type setting. We opted for a traditional Japanese room where you sit on the floor or put your legs in the rest well under the table. Although dressed in kimonos, the staff weren't Japanese but the food was good! and we got a 15% discount as hotel guests. There are lots of other meal options at the numerous restaurants nearby and in the Suria KLCC shopping mall opposite.
We found the swimming pool very useful and a good size for a city centre hotel. Towels are provided. There is also a small gym next to the pool.
The location was excellent with only a 5 min walk to The Petronas Towers and Avenue K with its LRT station. The hotel also offered free shuttlebuses to Chinatown and Bukit Bintang 3 times a day. There was good air conditioning throughout the hotel.
If you are looking for a 4 star luxurious hotel then this isn't for you but for a great location, price and room size we found this to be good value.
Room Tip: We had rooms 1028 and 1030 on the 10th floor opposite the Petronas Towers and overlooking the pool.
