“good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

the corus hotel is located close to the petronas towers.
we didnt reserved a room before arrival. the check in process was fast and efficient, everything was explained properly.
the quality of service and food is good but offers nothing special. the rooms are clean and windows can be opened. however, due to the noise at night from the road, the window should kept close.
all request were handled good, like airport transfers, money exchange and early breakfast.

“Perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

This hotel worked out to be perfect for us, a family of 4 including a 12 and 9 yr old visiting KL for the 1st time. I booked a family suite package for a week direct with the hotel and was pleased to find we were given 2 large inter-connecting non-smoking rooms with a massive balcony facing the Petronas towers. The rooms were clean although somewhat dated, with wear and tear. The toilet in 1 bathroom had obviously cracked away from the wall at some stage and had been reattached a bit sideways!
We had full tea and coffee facilities in both rooms and a bottle of water each every day. The hairdryers were ok, I never had to use my own from home. We also had an iron, ironing board, robes and slippers. We all found the beds very firm but we got used to them!
Breakfast consisted of a buffet of usual items and interestingly lamb or beef rendang every day, rice, noodles, spring rolls or curry puffs and on some days spaghetti bolognese and chicken nuggets! We didn't find the evening buffet good for value or choice even with a 50% discount for hotel guests! There are 2 other restaurants, a Chinese and a Japanese. We tried the Japanese, which had a lovely atmosphere with individual rooms in a mock village type setting. We opted for a traditional Japanese room where you sit on the floor or put your legs in the rest well under the table. Although dressed in kimonos, the staff weren't Japanese but the food was good! and we got a 15% discount as hotel guests. There are lots of other meal options at the numerous restaurants nearby and in the Suria KLCC shopping mall opposite.
We found the swimming pool very useful and a good size for a city centre hotel. Towels are provided. There is also a small gym next to the pool.
The location was excellent with only a 5 min walk to The Petronas Towers and Avenue K with its LRT station. The hotel also offered free shuttlebuses to Chinatown and Bukit Bintang 3 times a day. There was good air conditioning throughout the hotel.
If you are looking for a 4 star luxurious hotel then this isn't for you but for a great location, price and room size we found this to be good value.

Room Tip: We had rooms 1028 and 1030 on the 10th floor opposite the Petronas Towers and overlooking the pool.

“BAD experience - if u want non-smoking room, do NOT use this hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We booked non-smoking room about 4 months before our trip. On arrival, were given smoking rooms. It seem management did not even take note of the request, given the length of booking time. Paid for triple bedroom, management in hotel indicated no extra bed and were not prepared to let us have extra bed. Food at breakfast stale and horrible. Only plus is location near twin towers. This is not a 4 star hotel.

“Great location, good value for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

My in-laws came to visit my partner and I in KL and needed a place to stay for a week that was close to us (KL city centre) and not too expensive. The Corus fit the bill and they were doing a special promotional deal for Jan/Feb bookings which made the price very reasonable (approx. $105AUD per night for a room with an extra bed).

The hotel is conveniently located on Jalan Ampang, a main road that runs straight past the Petronas Towers. It is only a 3 minute walk to Avenue K and KLCC station (LRT) and the big Suria KLCC shopping mall is an easy 5-7 minute walk away.

There is a buffet breakfast served in the downstairs restaurant but my in-laws opted to stock up on cereal, milk, bread etc. at the supermarket on the lower ground floor of Suria KLCC mall. There is a microwave and a mini fridge in the room, and tea/coffee was provided daily by housekeeping.

The lobby area of the hotel is very nice and there are always a lot of people checking in and out so this is certainly a popular choice. The rooms themselves are showing a bit of wear and tear but are kept clean and neat and even with the extra bed included, the room was a reasonable size for 3 guests.

The swimming pool was of a decent size, clean and often busy with young families. The gym was reasonable too. We did not try any of the restaurants in the hotel but I believe there are 3 or 4.

The other reason the Corus is so convenient is the Aeroline Express - if you are travelling to or from Singapore via this coach service, the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. You can book tickets at the Aeroline counter inside the hotel lobby and enjoy a free coffee while you are waiting for your coach.

If you are looking for luxury this is not the choice for you; however, for a quick business trip or a holiday on a budget, this is perfect. When my own parents visit later in the year, I will be booking at the Corus again!

“Near to Twin Tower and good view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We stayed with my brother's family in this hotel for 2 nights. The room is very big and the bed is very good. Seems outdated hotel and the facilities are not very pleasing. we changed the room next day because of the smelly and not clean rooms.

Nearby there is a food court, can get local foods at cheaper rate and the taste also very good.
We didnt book breakfast that time since the price was very expensive with the room.

Recommended if you visit Twintower and want to see its beauty during night. Just 5 min walk.
