We booked the Dorset Regency as it was a cheap option for a five night stopover in KL. The hotel lobby is small but do not let that put you off, the staff are fantastic and very friendly. We were lucky enough to get a room with a view of the Petronas Towers but we would not have disappointed either way as the room was lovely and the bed extremely comfy! The hotel within walking distance of the Times Square shopping centre which is absolutely massive. If you walk the other way you come to the street with all the food stalls - you have to be strong here as it all looks and smells wonderful! The hotel's pool was welcome after a day in the city.
Contrary to some reviews we actually thought the hotel's location was perfect for everything as a skytrain station was only 5 minutes away. When we go back to KL we will stay here again as it had everything we wanted for a city hotel.

I stayed at the Dorset Feb 2011 (chinese new yr) for three nights en route to Penang, I know KL well so was only looking for a base hotel as we were only going to simply sleep there (and breakfast). The hotel is rated 4 star but i would say when walking into the lobby you would say it is a 2 star. the lobby and hotel bar (for want of a better word) is somewhat dated and tired. we upgraded our room to a deluxe and it was mahoosive- pretty much the size of a suite. The rooms decor seemed tired but it was very clean and just perfect for what we wanted. The location is great. If you want luxury there are better hotels to stay in but if you are looking for a great base hotel at a good price then i would rec you upgrade your room. Breakfast was deliriously busy so ask reception what time it the quietest- it may have been busy busy busy as it was chinese new year.

We stayed in Oct 2011 for the MotoGP. We booked 2 rooms (4 adults) Walking distance to the fantastic shops, The concierge (John ??) was very helpful & saved us loads of money by taking a private car ( ask for driver VJ) and taking us on tour around KL & also taking the boys to the race. Resturant & food choice& chef cooking in front of you was fantastic, Pool was a dream to come back & refresh after a day shopping. Cant really complain, the room was clean & had everything we needed. The laundry service was very cheap too. Am planning another trip this year....

Very nice hotel for our 2 night stay. Walking distance to bukit bintang. Nice staff and swimming pool. No complaints.
