“Nice stay at TWKL!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I stayed for 3 night on early February 2012. The premium room that i staying was so large despite no twin tower views. Being local Malaysian, the Starwood Brand Hotel is my preferred brand especially TWKL. There is no fault inside room. The room service was extremely professional and the food very tasteful. During check in, the process took merely 2-3 minutes as i do some counting in time just to check how fast they check me in. The location wise, extremely peaceful not like JW which is a bit hussle as near to The Pavilion entrance. So, TWKL is more peaceful and i consider it as bless for relaxing which is the main reason i stay in TWKL. Special thanks to receptionist Rachel who check me in in very fast and full of explaination. The only small issue is a bath tub. Some amount of drip can be spot from the bathroom in the passage from door to the bed. I guess it was architecture fault. Hopefully this is only happen in one room. Look forward to stay in TWKL when in KL again.

Room Tip: Choose the room with the side to pavilion otherwise the view will be old Pudu jail.

“Great hotel for business and pleasure”

Great hotel, with very modern design. Checkin was fast and friendly and rooms are in great condition. Fantastic access to Bukit Bintang and golden triangle, heart of tourist area in KL.

Paid 400 ringit per night ($135) with is very good for a real 5* hotel in such a great location.

Didn't mind that breakfast was not included, but very annoyed that internet was 50 ringit a day. Yes wireless is free in the lobby, but after a day of meetings I don't want to sit in lobby. If you are staying a few days I recommend going to Low Yat Plaza (great IT mall behind Bukit Bintang) and buying prepaid 4G 200 ringit MiFi (or "Huddle" here). Most coffee shop have free WiFi. to Finalize my rant about free internet, I booked into Marriott next door (Westin web site was down) and they give free internet in rooms if you are Marriott rewards member, they will sign you up at reception.

Try to get upgrade to room with view of Petronas towers - amazing site at night

“GOOD Hotel in a GREAT LOCATION!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I just stayed at The Westin Kuala Lumpur for three nights. Even though The Sheraton is rated very highly with Trip Advisor, I wanted to stay in a Great Location so that is why I chose to stay at The Westin. As a SPG Gold Member I got a welcome gift of chocolates. The lobby is very nice and there are a bunch of porters who are extremely attentive. The first room I was given was on the 30th floor with No views of the Petronas Towers or the KL Pavillion. The Room was dark and depressing, luggage skid marks all over the place and also dust. I spoke with the Manager who was extremely nice and he sent me to a room on the 28th floor. That room had a view of the Petronas Towers, KL Tower and the KL Pavilion. Keep in mind: If you are over 6'ft you might find the beds too short in the regular guest rooms. However, there was a problem with the toilet so I was moved to the Executive APartments. I had a great view of the Petronas Towers and had a living area, balcony, study and a master bedroom. It was Great!!! if there is not a huge difference in price go for the Executive Apartments its so much better!!! The pool is just ok with Not a lot of lounge chairs. The staff were great. They were very attentive and prompt at every request. I had a late flight and I was only entitled to a 4 PM late checkout. I asked the front desk agent for a later check out and he gave me 6pm which was perfect!!! I really appreciated that!

This hotel has a GREAT LOCATION! It is right next to the KL Pavilion, Starhill Gallery, JW Marriott, and the Ritz Carlton. Personally, I think the KL Pavilion is a nicer mall than the KCC (Petronas Towers) with more entertainment and dining options. The Starhill Gallery has to be the classiest mall I have ever been to. It is so beautiful and make sure you go the the Feat Level (bottom level) where they have so many great restaurants for reasonable prices.

Even though I had a few hiccups in the beginning, I will definitely stay at The Westin Kuala Lumpur again! The staff were great and the hotel is in the Best Location!

Room Tip: Get an Executive Apartment if you can. Get a room facing to Petronas Towers and the KL Pavillion.

“A Little Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Booked this hotel as we were attending a function held in their grand ballroom. Check in was smooth, however the room was dirty, marks from drinks all over coffee table, and nail clippings on carpet. After a long flight from the UK really just wanted to relax, was told there were no other room available and a cleaner would be sent. I did mention I would be sharing my travel experience and am happy to say another room was found on the same floor and a rate reduction was given. Would have preferred just a clean room, but the problem was addressed.
I totally agree with the excellent reviews on location, and the food and service at the function we attended was outstanding, but I do feel the Westin has cleanliness issues. The carpet in the area where breakfast is served is really stained and dirty, not what I would expect in an hotel with this star rating.

“Business Hotel with perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I think this was my 20th or more stay in the Westin Kuala Lumpur. My first stay is years back during their soft-opening period. I still like to come back because of the following facts - location is perfect - THE Pavillion shopping mall is right in front of the Westin. The Westin has a good bar called QBar - nice latin music and good drinks. The Cigar Lounge has a nice atmosphere and a good wine selection. The Eest restaurant offers fusion cusine from several asian countries. If you are into italian food than the Westin has it too - called Prego - I would suggest to go to the Villa Danieli at the Imperial Sheraton - the food is excellent and the atmosphere much nice than in the Westin. The breakfast at the Living Room is very nice. I have to say that the Executive Lounge improved a lot in comparison to a few years back. The Gym is okay with a view on the Pavillion and the outside pool is also quite nice. Unfortunately i have to say the the aircondition is getting louder and louder. Please get it fixed - thank you.
