“Overnighter in KL at a great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Besides the location and age a very nice hotel. Incredible 4-5 floors lobby, bars and restaurant in the old grand hotel style. I was upgraded to an enormous suite with a great view of the twin towers by day and/or night! The only down side in the room was the A/C that struggled with the temperatures...would not go below 24 C daytime even with the curtains shut! Location was a bit disappointing based on some local hoodlums "hunting" on their rollers outside of the hotel. I opted for the adjacent club and had a ball there.

Room Tip: Tell the Club doorman you're a Hotel guest and the adm. fee is waived.

“Superb room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I drove up recently for a short getaway and booked 2 Delux Rooms for 3 nights. Having stayed there 3 times in the last 4 years, I knew what to expect- clean spacious and cosy rooms, comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms etc. And we were not disappointed. Even after a lapse of 2 years (my last stay was in 2009), they have managed to maintain their standards.

A couple of minor frustrations:

1. Carpark wasn't free- as another reviewer has mentioned, carpark is at 8RM/ night. Not exorbitant, but still, would have added gloss to what was a brilliant stay for us.

2. Swimming pool- a tad too small. Plus, as it's surrounded by a few high rise buildings, it's nearly always under the shadow of those buildings, making the water in the pool very very cold. When we used the pool, it was 3pm of a hot and sunny day; yet we found the temperature of the water to be quite unbearable/ chilling.

“Superb value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This hotel has a touch of class missing from similar priced hotels in KL. Never mind that it is away from the city center, you are only 3 stations away from Bukit Bintang shopping centers and also near to KLCC. Monorail station is just in front of the hotel.
The Deluxe room is big, poshly furnished and the twin beds easily sleeps 4! Pool is in a private area but not very big. Gym is great but faces an abandoned building. Breakfast is superb and choices are wonderful. The only letdown is you get almost zero attention from the staff during breakfast.
Price wise this is a hotel you would definitely want to return to!

“Great Stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Had a great stay at this hotel. Even though you think it's away from the shopping areas, it isn't. The monorail and train system are very close and the side street that runs along the side of the hotel has some great restaurants especially the Thai restaurant.

The staff at the hotel were great and very helpful. We had a Deluxe Suite that looked towards the Towers. Worth paying the extra to have the view. The room was quiet!! The only issue was the internet not being free in the rooms. This being a top end hotel free internet should be in all the rooms and free!!!
